This med

I feel like I'm 12 months pregnant.  lol, Well I do.  I cannot eat like normal people so usually keep meals small and so very healthy so that I can feel 8 months prego instead. Gastro doc says all is normal.  Hmmm, I still wonder about that. I told Mary the other day, "I don't need my stomach stapled I just need to find out what their diet is and eat like them", she says "you already do!".  She says I should lose a couple pounds a week the way I eat.  I do agree.  I gained another 4 lbs in the last couple weeks.  Neurontin is pissing me off!!!  I am cutting back from 2400 mgs a day to 2100.  Not an easy task ahead of me as I suffer such severe pain and could use an increase in the med but I will NOT tolerate this crap any longer.  So, if I start acting weird like really grumpy or whatever, do forgive me.  Sherry

I am sorry you are suffering so much. I have not had experience with fibromyalgia, But worked as a wholistic health counselor for more than ten years, and taught nutrition classes. I hope I can make some suggestions that might be useful. A very good book on general dietary health is \"Let\'s Eat Right to Keep Fit\" by Adelle Davis. Her more technical book \"Let\'s Get Well\" deals with dietary inputs for a number of different illnesses. Following her advice I was able to cure my varicose vein problem, my lower back problem, my painful monthly problem and my general fatigue problem. That was 35 years ago and I am now a healthy active 71 year old widow. Some years ago, I had a frozen shoulder for two years from helping lift a concrete statue. Someone gave me some pycnogenol (a C complex nutrient) for my allergies. I was so pleased that I bought a bottle and started taking it regularly. Much to my astonishment my shoulder began to gain mobility, and is now completely normal for the past 15 years. Pycnogenol works to heal connective tissueand is very anti-inflamatory So, in addition to improving nutrition in general, you might want to try it. If you get the second Davis book, I think she has a chapter on rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. I think you said you have RA in your family, so her advice there might be especially useful.

Other things you can do to heal are to get organic food as much as possible, and drink purified water. There are so many chemicals and drugs in our water that there is no telling what strange effects we may suffer if we are especially sensitive. I see you are 44, so you may also be having additional negative inputs from the \"change\". If I remember, Davis also has advice on that topic. Another good thing to do is to eat at least half your food raw. Most milk and related products are pasturized (heated), but yogurt with live culture and some aged cheeses are raw.

Someone mentioned candida infection. Yeast infection can cause many health problems. Going on a carbohydrate elimination diet (anti-yeast, or Atkins induction phase) can clear up a multitude of ills. Google those topics for more information. The one problem is that the more you are yeast infected, and the more you eliminate the carbohydrates and sweets that yeast love, the worse you will feel. After several days the yeast will start to die causing toxins that can make you feel really ill (vitamin C might help). They may also cause you to feel a desperate desire for a carbohydrate binge. Just tell yourself \"no lousy little yeast cell is going to tell me what to do.\" The toxic phase should not last more than a week, then if you did have a yeast problem, some of your health problems should start to feel better.

A calming herb that may help you sleep and worry less is Valerian. Maybe one or more of these suggestions could help you cut back enough on your meds to loose the weight and get more exercise. I know you said it got so bad that even swimming hurt. I wish you the best of luck.
