This marks the start of a new life ahead...
Well, here we go again ladies. DH and I are on day 6 of our last attempt at IVF. We chose our egg donor and sperm donor a few months ago and were patiently waiting for me to get my period and go on birth control, which seemed to take forever. I had my baseline ultrasound done this past Thursday and everything looks great! I started estrogen injections last Thursday. My donor starts her meds this friday and my next ultrasound is 8/17. The potential egg retrieval date is 8/24 with a transfer on 8/29. DH and I have been SO busy that we have been like passing ships lately. We finally had a day to ourselves this past Saturday and we had such a great time hanging out. We had a few beers and played video games while taking turns picking out records. I have been feeling a little more emotional than I normally do lately, well....and the beers didn't help, but I got all upset. I told DH that I'm terrified of this cycle. It is our last chance of a possible pregnancy. Although, I do feel very excited and positive about it because we are taking away both variables now so I have it in my head that maybe if we have perfect embryos they will actually stick. I still am very aware of the weight of this being our last attempt. No matter what happens this will mark the start of a new life for us. One with children, or maybe one without. DH and I both know that most likely not having children is not really what we want. However, we will be taking a lengthy break from everything fertility for a few years before pursuing adoption. He actually texted me today while I was at work with, "You're my whole world Becky and I won't stop until I get you a baby!" lol Kinda sounds funny, but the guy has a heart of gold and I am truly the luckiest girl in the world in the love department.
I have to tell you about our Colorado trip because it seriously opened my eyes to new possibilities. We had the best vacation ever!! I can't even believe you have all that beauty in your backyard heatherttc!! We spent the first two days in estes park and hiked the rocky mountains. The two trails we did were both different and breathtaking. We saw waterfalls, lakes, mountains, and were 12,000 feet high in elevation!! The scenery looked like a game of thrones war could break out in the fields at any moment. We were truly in heaven. We had awesome dinners, tried CO brewed beers, and met the nicest people ever. The last two days we spent in Boulder and Denver. We just perused pearl street mall, which is a bunch of eclectic and unique stores and restaurants. DH checked out a dispensary and bought some edible peach gummies which he loved!lol We just loved it there. Denver is a thousand times cleaner with way nicer people than Philadelphia. We could seriously see ourselves moving to CO. It's a beautiful place with so much to do. We love pretty much any outdoor activity and CO is obviously full of that. It just reminded me that we can seriously do anything we want. If we want to move to beautiful CO we can! So, no matter what happens in the next month or so our lives will be changing. I know we may have frozen embryos left and of course we will be doing all attempts before calling it quits. CO just opened our eyes to how much more of the world is out there that we have never seen or experienced. I am very nervous and very excited for the future, but as long as I have DH I know I will be happy wherever we end up! Miss you guys!! xoxo

What a great update, Bec... I seriously teared up when I read what your husband texted you. I know how hard all of this can be on a relationship and it is so great to know that you are not letting IF win. Your trip to Colorado sounded amazing and I definitely want to add it to my travel list now. I hope that this cycle continues to go smoothly and that you are able to stay as positive as humanly possible. I am thinking of you and wishing the best for you:)
I will be saying a little prayer for you for this cycle. Your trip to Colorado sounds incredible! I'm glad you were able to get away and enjoy a beautiful vacation with your DH. Keep us posted on everything and know I'm thinking of you. xoxo
Aww, Becky, I'm so glad to hear your cycle has officially started. I know how hard it is just to wait to get your period! Even though it's difficult to stay positive all the time, it's good to see you're looking on the bright side of things - knowing that your life will change in one way or another, and regardless of what happens, you'll have your sweetheart of a hubby by your side. Your Colorado trip sounds awesome! I'm somehow not shocked to hear that the people are nicer, and it's much cleaner than Philly, LOL. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll end up with a ton of high quality, very sticky embryos!! Thinking of you always. xoxo
So glad that you and DH had such a nice vacation, you deserved it! I'm hoping that this cycle is THE ONE! Your DH sounds amazing and you truly are lucky in that department! Best of luck this cycle and keep us posted!!!
