thinking about personal values

there's something in me that knows now that I have to find standards and mores that I can

have in my life as I live going forward.  I’ve got to establish my own benchmarks for feeling good about myself and my achievements, my mores etc... In the past I have so looked for my family's rubber stamp which isn't viable anymore.

I'd love for a set of imagery to come to me so that I might easily follow it but I know it will take time for me

to suss this out and perhaps indeed that it will be a life long process and evolution that may never be

finished as well. We want different things at different stages of life and those differences are cause for adaptation and adjustment. There’s experimentation too, we might be drawn to something that turns out to not be healthy for us globally or in the stage of life we are in. I believe in the understanding that christianity offers for life. Passions, that we all have them

and deal with them. Ever steady benchmarks companionship as life progresses and ebbs and flows.

I also find myself thinking about Buddhism and I love the aspect of it that says you can pray to Buddha - but

YOU are responsible for getting what you want in life as well as are responsible for engendering the vibe

you live by too. Christianity is seeming very much a 'might makes right' religion right now. I'm not sure

if I am strong enough to lead my life in that way to have success and happiness with things. I am just being really candid

and honest. I may be a priest and I understand my position and role - it is a powerful understanding i have reached

- and it feels extremely nice that I can

be that for people but I also know that I have to find a way to be ok with what I do in life and what I achieve.

I am grateful for you guys. I am grateful for my family, friends and Blue. I want to make my life about sustainging myself

and my community and the love of my life Blue. I know I want some things for myself but also I want to support the health

and well being of my friends, family and comrades along the way.

as my brother once said "there are people who damage the world, and there are people who heal it.'
while I know that the ascesis of this place has helped me grow, I know at a certain point I need to find
my personal agency, my sense of play and my sense of what i to take seriously and what to dismiss.

it's funny, i am thinking about my values much like a form of government.
I think if I were to be represented by a government in the form of my values
I would be like Mark Carney's vision of Canada. I believe in pluralism,
I believe in socialistic ideas but I also believe in free markets to build
strength and virtue and wealth for myself, and myself and my community.

I feel like the aggressivity here in the united states can be a really addictive thing.
Might can seem like the answer to everything, I think though it's a really short sighted precedent.
I strongly believe that emotional safety is really crucial. It allows people and their brains to develop
beyond the base feelings of life. Those base feelings, if they are the only things permitted can
be really de-evolutional in that they are all we will feel permission to go for.
