thinking
i was really struggling tonight - while watching the news and then trying to sleep. it's free time really.
i thought of how i deal with the unstructured or out of the ordinary moments at work - i used to get all
uncomfortable and discouraged and anxious about them. but then i started to talk myself through it at work.
like.. 'nothing to be alarmed about' - 'it's just about taking one step and then another' - my commitment to the job
forced me to deal with moments like that -
i'll call it emotional intelligence perhaps.
and now that I am in the quiet of my room - and there are all these possibiiities - and unstructured time - i think i can start
to connect the dots - that it's kind of the same thing here as it is at work - in moments like the one i mentioned.
i need to talk/walk myself through it. it works! :)

I am about to go to work.
Hmmmm, "emotional intelligence?" I've heard of, researched, read....of EQ [Emotional Quotient]. Most people have heard of IQ (Intelligence Quotient]. I know of a person with a high IQ, but has an EQ of about 50 > 60. So, is this the same or am I going off the grid? Thank-you.
you know what? I really am sorry I wrote that. But I did.
I just had a decent day at work- though my emotions raged. I can't say that I am emotionally intelligent.. I mean I have some tools to use to cope in a flawed 'system.'
One attitude that is important for me to keep is a kind of humility - my raging sadness or even a kind of anger has to be kept in check. I can get out of control sometimes. So, I am home from work
and it's just time to deal with things here. At work I have learned to do the job over a momentary mood shift. Not much more to add.
