Am I getting too editorial to wonder if the "but" should be an "and." In my personal herstory, the gift of good things is far more plentiful when I am humble. Vanity has a way of blinding me to those gifts.
I feel pretty humble, too, AND the day is bringing the gift of good things. I like humility. Not to be confused with humiliation. . . How can such similar words be such radically different experiences?
