They trashed it
We got possesion of our rental property back today and it's trashed. all the carpet, every room all the walls the only thing that doesnt need disinfected torn out, and replaced are the ceilings. They actually left dog crap on the floor in one of the rooms. the carpets are stained and shredded beyond repair. the walls are filthy they didnt even so much as sweep. after we wash the walls down then sand them then primer them then paint them pull up the carpet and padding replace them scrub the floors and maybe Im wrong, maybe scrub the ceilings too, then it will be liveable. They were only there less than three years. The property surrounding the house looks like a junkyard. we will know tomorrow whether insurance will cover anything inside or not. the pool , which is demolished, is the only thing that is covered for sure. We approximate the damage at $20,000 plus dollars.....and they owe us two months back rent plus penalties........

Have not been up & on-board for many days, but am horrified at the itinerery of damage done to your place. Do hope you have not been overdoing things during this massive cleanup: and that the Insurance Co. is kind to you. they tend to be getting tougher each year - I get a new codicil every year now - and the cost has doubled, whilst I\'ve only added 5K worth of extra stuff. - But, best of luck. chasing them may not be easy: I know here one can get them on the dreaded List of Bad Tenants - and there they stay until they have paid up. All Real Estate Agents use it to check. (One trick is to put the next place in the name of the female (ie: her maiden name, so it\'s wise to get this & ask for Proof (Birth Cert.) I know this sounds over the top.Take care, JaneD.
