They Beast

One of the recurring stars of my nightmares is, "The They Beast." This grotesque nightmare image is a single head with many bodies and endless fashion/uniform statements. I've tried to draw this image in Art Therapy, but the creature is way beyond my artistic interest and talent, especially since it morphs with nightmare speed. It seems to have a version for every They in the human species. Teacher Theys. Classmate Theys. Political Theys. Ismic Theys. Theys for every passion in the human genome. Neither its head nor multiple bodies ever stay the same for very long. It is rather like a personified kaleidescope in motion. Consistency seems quite beyond the capacity of The They Beast of my nightmares.

This morning The They Beast seems romantically inclined. Which romance queen does that cleavage belong to? Which bridezilla is shaking her diamond across that romantic penis? Whose forgotten babies are tugging at all those tuxedo pant legs and white dresses? The single head has all the romance stars cycling through the big screen between its ears with a few familiar faces between the movie poster shots. The romantic Theys of Many Exes seem to be dominating the big screen. The Theys who prove with absolute certainty in my own mind that it is much easier to marry the one you love than to love the one you marry.

Processing. . . No big surprise that The They Beast is on the move this morning with a romantic theme to its reign of terror. I am packing to head back to the Urban Homestead to console (I hope) my grandson before I carry his little sister off for time up here at the farm. Daddy might be coming back with us as well, but that part isnae highly significant to GS. To a five-year-old, CPS mandates are even more puzzling than orders from God or romantic warfare between the parental units. As of last night, Daddy says will be coming up here with his daughter, but. . . Romantic warfare isnae the most predictable warfare in the human war records. To my senses, it is an even more vicious oxymoron than Holy Wars.

Sorting. . . Letting God lead the dance.

Hmm I have heard of shape shifters. .... from Coast to Coast Am....(a alternative radio talk show). Also Shadow people....I never heard of the "They Beast" hmmm... Continue to sort.

I'm glad you've never heard of The They Beast, Chris. To the best of my knowing, The They Beast doesn't frequent any nightmares but my own and not fit for any public program I wanna be part of. I wouldn't wish the acquaintance on anyone.

During the "What Super Power Would You Choose" game, Shape Shifting is one of my personal faves. Shifting into an eagle to escape traffic gridlock is a favorite fantasy when I find myself parked on the freeway. Shadowing seems like a pretty nifty super power, too, but it won't get you out of gridlock.

OMG, I hate to add to your distress, but I saw a picture of an unusual stillbiirth from the 1800’’s, sort of conjoined twins, but with one head and two bodies sort of facing. One of the most disturbing pictures that I’ve seen on the internet. Something about it looked real, not a hoax.

I might have seen that very picture, DSF. Yea, it reminded me of The They Beast from my nightmares, but two inanimate bodies on one head seemed kinda tame in comparison. I don't count it as a good thing that it is so hard to shock me.

Sorry you for your distress.

Oh how horrid of a Beast, Arfie! I can’t begin to imagine what that would be like to have haunt my nightmares! In my long quest to find a faith to believe in after the realization I had no faith, I studied many religions, many things and the “They Beast” sounds even worse than the Goetic Demons of King Solomon that are described in the Book of Goetia.

Huge hugs, and lot of love & support, Arfie!

It's hard for me to affiliate with any group of humans of whatever stripe without visitations from The They Beast. There seems to be A They for everybody. Religious/political affiliations might be the meanest of The They Beast muses. Maybe. It is *just* a nightmare, after all.

I find I have simplified "Faith" as that which gets me out of bed on the days I have zero proof that any of this is okay. A time or three, my Faith has even knocked the caps off the they beast, but only in my dreams.

Just breathe. . .

I am so sorry you are tormented arfie. I guess we all have our 'demons' as they say. I feel tormented about stuff
as well. It seems like the They Beast is almost an evaluative tool that your mind coping with. Sending big hugs
of peace and comfort.

Evaluative tool?

Hm-m-m-m. . . I'll have to chew on that possibility for a while. The funny part about dream imagery, especially nightmares, is the meanings are never as clear as a dream symbology dictionary. My favorite interpretation so far is, "Pure stigma. No individual thought in play."

Maybe I should name The They Beast, "Stigmata." I've heard it said and do agree that naming a wild animal is an important step in taming it.

I still think of you as, "Chris."

I got a good laugh at myself when I realized my memory damage had twisted me again in the naming of my They Beast.

Well duh! ! !

I still like the name, though. It feels all the more apropos for the giggle attached.
