The war inside

Do we all fight a war within ourselves?  A hush falls at night, as if the soldiers playing out the drama in my mind settle in for an anxious sleep.  I cannot seem to shake the inevitable maelstrom of thoughts; and the war is renewed with intense vigor as I wake from my uneasy sleep.  I'm tired of this war!  All I wish for is peace.
