The state of things

Yesterday was my first actual therapy appointment. I feel like it was a positive step. I'm still not healed obviously, and my emotions are still on a roller coaster. I do feel as though it was a positive session and I'm at the beginning of a journey that may be long and at times difficult. I feel that the journey will be worth the trip though.

Yesterday for me was about a 5 or a 6 on a 10 point scale if 1 is awful and 10 is wonderful. The day leading up to therapy wasn't all that great. i didn't have any anxiety attacks, but I did have waves of anxiety that were worse than others.

I was able to watch TV and stay distracted for the most part. I still haven't found the motivation to start achieving some of my other goals. I need to find a job. I have a part time job that I do from home, but I'm looking for something else part time to get me out of the house and interacting with people.

It's also important for me to find a primary care physician. It's been over 7 years since I've had a physical and full work up done and I need to get a better handle on my physical health. I can't keep my head in the sand and hope that everything is okay. Plus, it's possible that there is a health related component to my anxiety. I may be lacking in a specific hormone or nutrient or have an abundance of another or something.

I also want to start exercising more often. I do push ups and crunches 6 days a week but I need to do some cardiovascular exercise as well. Though I have started eating more healthfully and it feels as though I may have lost some weight.

Overall the feeling of hopelessness has subsided a bit. I still feel the anxiety in the background but for the most part I feel as though my life is entering a new phase and that it could be wonderful if I can just let go, trust in God, and allow it to be;
