THE RUG IS FINALLY DONE...YEAH!
WELL, THIS IS THE RUG I HAVE BEEN HOOKING FOR AWHILE NOW ACTUALLY 220 PLUS HOURS. IT IS FOR MY GIRLFRIEND THAT JUST MOVED INTO HER RENOVATED FARM HOUSE AT THE BEACH. IT IS 20 BY 30 INCHES. ALMOST ALL OF THE MATERIALS ARE PURE WOOL OF ONE KIND OR ANOTHER. SOME OF THE WOOL IS WOVEN AND CUT INTO STRI[PS, OTHER WOOL IS CARDED AND DYED BUT NOT TWISTED INTO WOOL SKIENS ( THE SKY), SOME IS DYED BUT NOT CARDED, SOME OF THE MATERIAL IS RECYCLED SILK AS IN THE BIRD AND THE BUTTERFLIES. THE DESIGN CAME ON THE BURLAP, HOWEVER, I MADE MANY CHANGES AND ADDITIONS. I ALSO USED VERY LITTLE OF THE COLOR SCHEME PROVIDED. I SPENT AN ADDITIONAL $200 OR SO IN MATERIALS. I AM HAPPY WITH THE WAY IT CAME OUT.IT'S TOO BAD THE PICTURE DOES NOT SHOW ALL THE DIFFERENT TEXTURES. I AM ALSO SURE THAT WHEN I UPLOAD THIS THE PIC WILL BE DISTORTED. SO PLEASE, LOOK AT IT IN MY PHOTO ALBUM.

BY THE WAY, IT IS LAYING ON THE FLOOR OF MY REC ROOM IN THIS PICTURE. IT IS INTENDED AS A WALL HANGING THEREFORE THE HANGERS. TO BUY A RUG THIS SIZE WOULD BE WELL OVER $600. SO...WE DON\'T WALK ON THEM BECAUSE AS THEY ARE PURE WOOL THEY CANNOT BE WASHED.
Well it is a very lovely gift and your friend is lucky to be receiving it and I\'m sure she will treasure it forever.
I would love to see it \"in person\" and be able to touch it and feel the textures. Been ages since I\'ve done anything like this and even back then I was not as adventerous as you have been with this one.
