The Problems with Having Trust Quirks
One major problem of me having the trust quirks that I do is that sometimes they really get in the way of what I need, in this case help.
Today we worked on systems of three equations in three variables during my math class. Somehow I solved the in-class problem...but I just don't understand how. Since I have exams next week I really needed this tucked away now, so I went to the tutoring center, where there is always someone available.
There was just one problem. I ask who's available today, and so they're pointed out to me. All males. This shouldn't be a problem, but my heart immediately fires up a red flag. It remembered how I felt uncomfortable with a male tutor earlier in the week, and so it wants a female for this topic or else. There was no talking it out of that.
So now I'm in a bind. I'd much rather take what would normally be my tutoring time next week to make final preps for an exam I have later that day, but since I have to assume I'm working two days next week, an earlier visit is not possible. Now I have to make a decision I don't want to make: Intentionally let the homework problems slide for a week because there is no target date for it which is always announced in class (so the professor can't pull a fast one), or take the tutoring when I know a female will be available and risk not being fully ready for my Wednesday exam.
I'm starting to think I might to have to ask Samantha, my trainer, if she can walk me through a problem should I see her today...(sigh).
