The pain comes back no matter what we do

I miss Smokey (Al) like crazy and at times feel like drinking a lot of booze to erase the pain.  Alas, when you drink so much, the next day you have a hangover and still feel the pain.  I don't think anything can erase the pain we are feeling.  We can be distracted for a time but the pain comes back.  Someone can make us laugh but the pain comes back.  We can get drunk but the pain comes back.  We can go away for awhile but the pain comes back.  We can talk to other people but the pain comes back.  We can have faith in God and pray but the pain comes back.The pain always comes back no matter what we do.
