The meaning
I admit to you now that in the past when I heard someone talk about how they had needed to mourn and bury their child I would shudder and thank god i'd never known that pain. My kids all made it thru, I said, thank god. Until last wednesday when I learned from some distant mumbling becoming shattered glass in my brain: my first born daughter 34 was killed by electrocution stepped on hot line. life forever changed

rocking you gently and crying with you, counti. the fourth anniversary of my youngest son's traffic death at age 35 is next month and those "pieces of shattered glass" are still working their way out of my brain. maybe. some days i think i am **simply** adapting to the presence of those glass shards in my brain. raising his 3 young orphans has given me a sense that i need to leave those pieces of shattered glass available for their education. the baby just started pre-k this week. mommy and daddy are hot topic in pre-k and? ? ? she is not too familiar with that concept. let the education begin.
