the Magic
the Magic...for a point of reference, the author of this book also wrote the Secret. It is basically the law of attraction, like attracts like, and it totally makes sense...haven't you ever seen someone who seems like everything goes their way and they are always happy??? Well, if you read the book, watched the movie, or watched the Oprah episode dedicated to it, you get the idea. It is easier said than done however and I still haven't created a vision board...lol
Well, I got a message from Sandra Champlain who wrote "We Don't Die". If you haven't read it, please do. Anyway, she was apologizing for sounding corny but described how much more richness she felt in her life since starting to work her way through this new book...the Magic...please don't be turned off by the title, there is no magic involved. It's main lesson is gratitude...there is a 28 day course it guides you through and if you do the work you get to stand back and watch your life open like a hothouse lily. I haven't gotten that far yet, but I do know that all the major religions, even a universal law, that the more gratitude you feel the more will come to you to be grateful for. It just makes sense. Because when you are searching for things to be grateful for, you just don't have time for any negativity. The first days task is to write down 10 things you are grateful for and why. I got to 25 and quit counting.
It also sort of goes along with an article I posted on Facebook FMO today about 7 things we wish people understood about a grieving parent. Number 7 will BLOW YOUR MIND. Do you hear me???? BLOW YOUR MIND...in the early days we feel guilty for feeling any joy...but there comes a time when we have moments of infinite joy over seemingly innocuous happenings.
We have experienced the deepest pain, and it has broken our hearts into a thousands of pieces. Through those pieces a time will come when more light shines through and you will find the most delightful things about life that stop you in your tracks and make you whisper "Thank You, Thank You, Thank You."
We live richer, deeper lives now. The pain is still there and always will be...but somehow, if you can just keep your heart and mind open and not let it turn you bitter, you will find more joy in life than ever before...Joyful things you once took for granted...Need I tell you what it meant to me to have a dragonfly land on my finger and look me in the eye for what seemed like an eternity??? I bet you get it.
I'd give it all up to have Cassi back...but I have to wait for my time to be with her. In the mean time, my eyes are OPEN WIDE and I see love and light everywhere I look and within everyone I see. I am not living obsessed with keeping Cassi going just one. more. day. Now I am obsessed with the Universe and all the gifts it is showering me with.
I am awake. It hurt to wake up, but wow...life, love, relationships, everything is so much richer.
Also, right now the guilt seems to have let go of me...it might come back, but right now, at this time, I don't feel guilty for finding happiness most everywhere I look...Seek and ye shall find...Seek love, forgiveness, compassion, happiness...there are no limits and it's there for the taking.
So after all this what I was wanting to do is recommend 2 books, "We Don't Die" by Sandra Champlain and "the Magic" by Rhonda Bryne.
If you read my whole post, thank you sisters...I just want to share what helps me hoping it might help someone else.
My shingles are much better...basically look like acne now and no pain. It was a light outbreak...and I am GRATEFUL!
Love to all my sisters,
Gina

So afraid of shingles, after both my mom and son came down with them. So awful, had the vacination, a few years ago......Thanks for the recomendations, when my concentration comes back, I\'ll try to read again. Do take care of yourself, I am so glad to have begun to know you, love, abby
Glad to hear that your outbreak was a mild one and that you are feeling better.
Happy always for the book recommendations as I\'m a reader and I remember Wayne Dyer saying he would awaken to each day and say, \"Thank you, thank you, thank you.\" Gratitude for another day to see the world with new eyes and to know that we are here for a reason.
You are healing in your own way, in our own time and finding ways to be in this world now and there is no greater gift than this.
Hand in hand and Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
Gina I will try to get these in the library. I have times when I am able to read and others when it is truly a chore. Helping our hearts and heads to deal with this path is very difficult but it is in the struggle that we will see the light again. Peace, Kathy
The books sound wonderful. I too will go and look for them. I am like Kathy though - sometimes I can read and other times I just can\'t do it.
It is good to hear that you are in a good place right now. As you know, we cycle but that is okay. It took me a long time to enjoy life without feeling the guilt.
Wishing you love and peace as we navigate the rest of the month.
Tight hugs, M
Wow, I am impressed!! You sound wonderful and the books do too. I am four years after loosing Dean and I am still having such problems. It does my heart good, to see you moving forward and following the light. Now, if I can just find it...
Joanie, thank you for mentioning Dr. Wayne Dyer, he is another person to be grateful for!!! Also I am grateful for Youtube because I can watch his lectures anytime I want to!
A very insightful journal. I can so clearly remember those first years of feeling guilty for even the smiliest smile. I will always mark year three as the year that I started to laugh again. I will always remember one of our young bathers (bathers take care of the dogs who come for baths or nail clippings only and also serve as assistance for us groomers, clean the kennels etc and our very underpaid for all that they do!). Her name was Rebekah and one time, early on, I smiled about something. Another co-worker, in jest, said \"What are you smiling about ?\". Sweet Rebekah said \"Leave her alone, she hardly ever smiles.\" Thank you for the book recommendations. I am going to see if I can get them from the library. I am glad that the shingles was a mild outbreak. I had recurring shingles but they got milder and milder over the years and I cannot even remember the last time that I had one. They take a long time to heal but they never left me any scars.
Peace XOXO Belinda
I\'ve been searching for a new book to read....this comes at the exact right time for me. I\'ve been sort of all over the place with my thoughts and emotions the last few days.
I was finally able to work through the guilt of finding JOY, but man oh man, it was HARD work that beat me up more than once. And you are so right, the more we seek, and allow, happiness and joy, and the more we put out into the universe happiness and joy, the more we receive. It\'s all about gratitude and attitude!
So glad the shingles wasn\'t a terrible breakout and you\'re on the mend!!
LOVE YOU!
Love to Cassi!
I have read this journal three times now and I so believe in gratitude and the gifts it brings. Thank you for reminding me once again what a gift \"gratitude\" can be in the joy of living. I will add the books to my reading list and save them for a day when depression seems to be taking hold. That is when I need gratitude the most. Thank you, Gina.
I am grateful your shingles outbreak was minor and is almost gone.
Sending love,
Leda
These books sound very interesting, I need to look to forward to something. I am running out of energy these days.
Hope you are doing better
Hugs Penny
These books sound awesome...and I am grateful to YOU for suggesting them. :)
