The Invisible MonSter

The Invisible MonSter

There’s a MonSter that lives within me
His many faces each dawn a mask
The beast attacks my thoughts and strength
And takes my will to task
Many days I may look able
But that’s a temporary deceit
I rely on my spirit to keep me driving
And not giving in to defeat
You see, my spirit has no lesions…no limits…no decay
I may soon need those crutches
But that day is NOT TODAY
I attack the beast with needles
And then he’ll change his ugly face
Today I cannot find him
He has left without a trace
He may be back tomorrow
A different mask as his disguise
The hurt he may inflict on me
You may not see through naked eyes
Yet sometimes he leaves some visible scars
Each affecting my words or swagger
He’s going to take what he wants to now
And leave me slurred and staggered
But regardless of what he takes from me
I still get strength from up above
He may affect how I walk and talk
But he can’t touch my family’s love
Atleast now I know who this MonSter is
Confirmed thru my diagnosis
Ive called the beast by many names
You know him as Multiple Sclerosis

not worried about credit....just hope that it helps people get a little understanding of what we face each day.
