the glory of those extraordinary energy bursts
taking things in stride.
takes a while to get to the part of the day where one can function.
that is a fact. a fact with a face........a face with eyes turned heavenward, in thanks whenever i get these bursts of energy.
Thank you Heavenly Father.
... listening to Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill album, a thrift store snag for the bonny price of a quarter. Not my typical selection but then that is sort of the point. To shake up my listening ears.......to change the day up in a way that re-centers the joy of purpose or should it be the purpose of joy?
Milk chocolate brownies in the oven, gonna sneak some into the movies for a snack for Sam and his momma. With pecans, cause we like Georgia pecans in our chewy sweet meltingly delicious treats.
On the stove simmers a small pot of chili. The chicken soup tasted good, but turned my intestines into a war zone. Eventually I will go back to the doctor and this time be more emphatic about figuring the tummy/intestinal issues out.
moving on, I sliced up a bright red apple, ate a grilled cheese........I like to slice the grilled cheese into long fingers and then into mini melted cheese bites.........alternate bites of apple and melty cheese on golden fiber/flax bread. makes the meal feel like a fancy appetiser.......the presentation is fun and a nice change.
shortly after i ate my tummy stopped hurting and this is a most pleasant sensation.
laundry is done.....clothes picked out for the movies. a round necked long sleeved cotton tee.......a winter white background --- w black & gray flowers. --- a modern take on flowery tops everywhere. looks handpainted. kind of purty. forgot to mention that Sam & I are grabbing a light dinner at the food court at the mall and then seeing "Bridge of Spies". Sam just called to remind me to leave 15 minutes earlier than planned, cause I move slowly.........and he is getting out a little earlier than planned. spending time with my son makes me pretty happy, twirl and spin happy.........la la la la la
but back to wardrobe.....adding a soft gray cardigan w/roomy pockets - a pair of black yoga pants........not sure if I will break out the black suede boots or go with good old super comfy white tennies.........sharing these details with you cause it makes me feel more solid, less transparent.
think i'll add white pearl earrings and a long heart shaped silver necklace.......the heart pendant rests below my lady parts and my tummy button.......so super long. did i really just type lady parts, heaven help me and forgive me too.......your pal is a bit of an eejit! better go get a watch on before i forget.......and lady, take your PHONE!
we all need to feel less invisible, more REAL.......gonna switch over from a purse to my back pack in a minute or two......try to lighten the load......by getting rid of things i never use but always seem to carry. as though I will be making an appearance on that old game show "Let's Make a Deal!"
but seriously why do I carry so much crappola????? am i the only one?
want to mention some items added this year to the chronically ill helpers bag of tricks? ----added a small flashlight which is great for lots of reasons,
another item is a wrist handle to hold my keys. this thing is great !!!! .........seriously the best five bucks I spent in 2015. Having the dropsies & the dizzies is a constant issue so having the keys on my wrist negates dropping the keys all the time. the wrist thingie I got is from a company called thirty one. I bought mine from last year's collection of designs, so it cost half as much as the others........and they shipped it free of charge. music to my ears!
Mine is pink hot pink (this color was so named by Sara when she was a toddler).......mine has beautiful words of encouragement on it......
it says:
U R Bold heart shape U R True heart shape U R U heart shape U R Strong and repeats these phrases all the way around. i didn't think the design/wording would matter, but it definitely uplifts my spirits when i am out and hitting that struggling place!
the other thing I got way back in January or February was a doohickie that attaches to the bottom of my cane. (you simply remove the standard cane tip and then ask the first nice guy you see in the store to attach it for you. the guy that helped me thought it was awesome and bought one for his Mom's cane that very day.........
The doohickie allows the cane to stand on level ground by itself........and should I drop it I can retrieve it by simply putting pressure with the toes end of my foot...... on the black footed doohickie---- it promptly swings into the upright position thus negating the need to bend over/risk the dizzies (which are rough going & can be dangerous.) the cane has made me more confident.........when i'm out. when first out i usually don't need the cane, but i have learned to bring it with me because when the energy recedes it can happen hard and fast. and that is when the cane can steady you and make your journey much safer. (i put sticky initials in a pretty font on mine, snagged from wal-mart & added some other decorative details) nobody will think that my cane is theirs ........)
y'all probably have your own bag of tricks and i sure would love to hear of anything that makes things easier/better/safer for you........
the telling of ordinary things on ordinary days......save one little tiny secret.......we know that getting to do these ordinary things is no longer ordinary, but treasured extraordinary moments........
the countdown to sixty dawns closer.........official date is in February/2016. Primary reason this is of such import is that I have to renew my driver's license. (haven't had to do this in a decade).....yup, ten long years ago)........noticed that now going forward due to age it's every five years to renew in Georgia)
Things have changed at the DMV, now one has to produce either a birth certificate or passport, along with recent bills showing regular payments at your place of residence for things like phone bills or utility bills..........but that's still not enough, you also have to provide a copy of your social security card. It's a lot ........but I have the paperwork together.
My thinking is if possible to get this done before the end of the year - not have it hanging over my head. My typical worst function months are Jan-Feb-Mar......for reasons I don't really understand. January usually passes by in a cotton coccoon bedridden blur.......do you think it's the after effects of Thanksgiving and Christmas? I kind of do.......and also it gets colder here........this body seems to like temps in the 60's and 70's..........sorry for such a long chatter.........happy to be alive.
sending out Friday hugs to all y'all! love u, sparrow

great post. so busy with fun things. good for you!!!
The DMV is a bugger, isn\'t it? I had to go there the other day. I really love the wrist thing for your keys. I drop my keys all the time. Much love. Heather.
Hubby really wants to see that movie! Please tell me how it is. We\'ll probably see it tomorrow unless you tell me it\'s terrible but hard to imagine since it has Tom Hanks in it.
I hope you have a wonderful night with your son! Hi to Annie and Rio!
Hug hug!
Ruthie, I love your attitude regarding your illness & your life. I, too, want to enjoy my life & like to look at the positive things going on in it. I count my blessing daily & give thanks for them often. I hate being ill but it is what it is. I have to move on with my life, such as it is.
I this was a wonderful post, love to learn more about my friends here on DS, thank you for sharing your life & keeping me smiling. Hugs, to you, Denise
WHERE DID YOU GET THE DOHICKEY FOR YOUR CANE. IT SOUNDS HELPFUL.It sounds like you are ready for your fun time with Sam. I don\'t get much of that but Grandson is starting his basketball season so I do get to see them then. My company is usually for dinner at home and a card game. My son and daughter are both good to visit but we don\'t get out much.
