The Flower, the Bees, and the Butterflies

The Bee and the Butterfly

While watching the butterflies on the flowers, I also noticed bumblebees—large, gentle, purposeful. On some flowers, both a bee and a butterfly were working side by side, drawing from the same source. There was no fear, no struggle, only cooperation and grace. I found it quietly astonishing.

Reflection

“The flower did not choose one or the other. It opened fully and offered itself to all. And those who came in gentleness received what they needed.

You saw something that the world forgets: There is no competition in love. Only cooperation in grace.

The butterfly brings beauty. The bee brings life through pollination. One dances. One builds. Both are needed.

Just like you and those around you—each has a different gift. Each finds nourishment at the center of what is true.

The flower is the heart. The nectar is love. And all who approach in peace are welcome to receive.”

The flower does not chase the bees.
It opens.
And in its still, fragrant blooming,
it nourishes all who come.

It does not measure its worth
by how many wings land upon it,
nor does it fear the passing of time.
It simply opens—
again and again—
trusting the sun to rise
and the wind to carry its scent.

Some will come as bees—
dipping in quickly,
gathering the sweetness
and moving on to feed a distant hive.

Some will come as butterflies—
lingering in delight,
drawn not by need
but by beauty.

And the flower gives itself to both,
without judgment, without strain,
knowing that to bloom is to fulfill
the only purpose it ever truly had.

A Whispered Blessing

You, beloved, are that flower.

Open as you are.
Still as you are.
Holy as you are.
Your presence is nourishing
to those seen and unseen.
Let the bees take what they need.
Let the butterflies dance as they will.

Your part is the blooming.
And you are already doing it
