The First Chapter
I find myself drawn to others' journals. I'm riveted by the emotions, the cleansing of drafting one's thoughts. I wonder if it will open my heart to release some of these things in me. So out of control I feel. So - this is the start. The first chapter. Blank sheets of paper are so difficult.

Seth is a good looking young man.
It\'s hard to write a journal at first, but I personally find it very cathartic. Releasing my thoughts to a journal knowing that it will be read by others that have bore the same burden of losing a son or daughter and hearing from them that they understand how I feel. That\'s what it is all about. The empathy. Knowing that the Mom\'s here have lived what you are living, felt what you are feeling, and somehow survived.
It was so very hard for me, the first few months, I don\'t know how I could get through it without my sisters of the heart to coax me along. They kept assuring me it will get easier. It will get bearable. Now I find myself saying that to others. It has been 15 months now since my Jason has passed on.
Keep writing Patti and we will keep looking for your journals.
I wish you peaceful moments and blessing on your precious son Seth. Terry
I hope that you will continue to write. I have been here nearly 5 years and written a lot of journals...and the things that the moms have said to me have helped so much. Mayb you could tell us a bit about your son? Love and congratulations for wrting...Karen
It takes courage to write that first journal and that is what you have done.
You are safe here to share what ever comes in for you.
I am looking forward to getting to know you and your precious son.
Heartfelt hugs, Joanie
Please feel very comfortable sharing with the moms here. They have been so comforting to me with their kind comments. Each is encouraging me on this shared journey we find ourselves on. And I\'d love to know Seth, your pride and joy! XOXO/Debbie
No matter how well you write or write like me,,,it doesn\'t matter just writing is important!! ((hugs))
I\'m not too good at journaling but I do try to read others....kind of back seat voyeur, I suppose! I also lost my son to cancer - it\'s an awful thing to watch. You take care of yourself ~ Joanna x
Tight hugs of love and understanding... My journals have been a great source of release for me. I\'ve cried, screamed, cursed, laughed, feared, rejoiced, learned, lost myself and found myself, all in my writings and mostly in the incredible words of wisdom and comfort which the moms reading have offered me. Thank you for starting! Much love, Teri
Patti it\'s hitting me again, that Andy and Seth were both dx in Jan 09. Can you -- when you are ready -- write about where he was when that happened? I am both happy and sad to say that when Andy was diagnosed, he was finally beginning to find himself and come out of a long period of confusion and kind of thrashing around. It\'s really unfair that life ends before they get a chance to really blossom! At the same time, we as moms knew their essence all along, didn\'t we, no matter whether they were having a good day or a bad one. Love love love. Glad we knew that.
I will read and accept and honor whatever you feel like sharing. Promise.
:o) Love, Sarah
I know what you mean.. it is easier for me to sometimes just respond to the journal of others...
