The FEELING Of Chirstmas
I'm having a hard time explaining to my Scrooge of a spouse what I like so much about Christmas.
I'm an athiest so the holiday holds no religious meaning to me, we aren't wealthy so it's not all about throwing money around. I DO enjoy finding a gift for a loved one that I know they will go nuts over, I DO enjoy shopping and I DO enjoy reinforcing the belief of Santa Marlow has.
More then anything I LOVE the FEEL of the holidays. It's in the air, and that sounds so corny. But you can feel it in the malls, at the lights displays, in homes. It's palpable, and it's getting harder and harder to find. So when you do stumble across it? Stop thinking about how your tree is close to it's end and you have to money for another, or about how you have no idea where to find that sold out toy your daughter wants, just take in the feeling.
He can't seem to shut off his fiscal stress long enough to love the seasons touch. Though I will admit since I told him what I love so much about it all he has seemed happier...so maybe he is trying, and maybe he is getting that little brush of love, happiness and affection that coats the air.
I'm not going to say I don't enjoy getting presents....because deep down EVERYONE loves getting them. But Christmas day is nothing compared to the weeks, ecspecially that last one, leading up to it.
