The end of this chapter
I'm so scared. I feel like I'm about to roll a boulder down the side of a mountain from the summit.Tomorrow I will give my two weeks' notice at work. This job has been (relatively) so easy. I've come to develop a touching camaraderie with some of my coworkers. This decision really hurts, in multiple ways. But I know it's the right one.I have been planning this for months. I gave myself until the end of August to find something else. In spite of my efforts in searching over the past many, many months, I have not found another job. But that can't stop me. I've been here too long.I am not growing-- not in a deep way, as I need to. Something inside of me has become deadened. I've become depressed. I've wanted to leave for so long. Now, I finally will.I'm scared of what my bosses' reactions may be. Anger? Disappointment? Shock, surely. But... well, there's more to the story that I can't reveal here, but suffice it to say that I don't want to do them any favors. Like giving them more time to look for someone else. In any case, I've got a plane ticket for a vacation the day after my last day here.I'll report back after my world passes from the "before" stage to the "after." When things start sliding irrevocably down a new hill. Hopefully someone out there will care.
