the end of a good day

I love it here. I feel it is my form of family that we each make for ourselves.

Yes, Arfie...that's a royal we! : )hehe

But seriously, it was so wonderful today as I dealt with my 'challenges' -

I was talking to an older gentleman here who lives in the rectory - and he

was kind of stuck in his problems - the same issues that he's complained

about since I have been here on Sept. 1. No judgement on him

at all, but it made me think we're each racked with our life issues -

and they burden us and make us miss the open doors while we're tending

to the hurt of the closed doors upon us.

He helped me look past my own issues when I spoke with him today -

I didn't lose my issues - I just felt the power to see the basic commonality

and yet specifics to each.

The work is here to do- each day and also at the market - I still have and keep the dream

alive - the key for me is to weather the slings and arrows and the upsets

that could derail me into staring at a 'closed door' and keep on keeping on.

I get so caught up in the go go action to help the sisters and my boss but I can not know when to stop

sometimes and for that I get sick bigtime - I know it's not selfish to take care of yourself

so it's just a do as I can type relationship - and then be honest when I suspect a day off is needed.

Mental Health Days might sound funny- but they rock!!

family doesn't work so well in the first person singular. royalty is rarely bonded with the subjects of their we-dom.

i've loved the vast majority of volunteer family i've lived with, even the family members i chose not to hang with. "mental health days" were quite popular back in the 80's. i still believe in them.

Thanks Arfie. I’m just kidding around with the Royal we thing.

i'm not kidding around with it. not metaphoring around with it, either. in linguistics, pronouns are often called, little devils, diablitos, διαβολάκια, kleine Teufel and the like. wars have been started over details less important that the diffs between my woman, his woman, the woman, etc. i mind my pronouns.
