The big slide:big disappointment
So two days (or more) ago Charlie fell off the wagon, following a week in which his mood slowly shifted to black. Perhaps it was having my mum here; I don't know.
This morning, when he was asking what happened to the lighter, I took my chance to mention that I have the matches he had hidden in his car, but was unable to locate the cigarettes or vodka.
Then I said that if he wanted to get back on the wagon, he best get rid of them. No, he won't.
I asked him if he had remorse for drinking. No, he said.
End of subject.
I went overboard then, describing how he had been falling-down drunk in front of his grandchildren...at that point he walked away. Ah yes, the Fulton response: stomp out when things aren't going your way.
Shit.
