The Benefits of Obedience
Hi everyone,
Hope your Thanksgiving went well.
I have been absent for some time now. God’s been leading me into an area that is new for me. It’s about obedience.
Romans 6:17 “...become obedient from the heart...” is finding pleasure in pleasing God by our obedience when submitting to the control of Christ.
Ultimately, our love for God is demonstrated not by sentimental emotion, but rather in implicit obedience to His will. When we comply with His wishes, our walk with Him, our work with Him, our way with Him become a deep delight. Not only is He immensely pleased, but so are we. However, my slow will is slow to learn this lesson. I’ve questioned my heart and boldly asked “Do I really care what He thinks of my character?”
The answer is found in the communication with God. I have found that when I am able to sense and detect His will being expressed to me by His providential handling of my life, it is then that my undivided attention has been a constant view completely focus on Him and His Word. Therefore, the result is no strain or tension between us, but rather a superb impartation of truth.
I am slowly coming to an understanding something of the will of God in which God has entrusted to me. That I can grasp through the obedience and devotion to Him the reflection of His loving character of Him as my friend.
In this hard work with Christ I have discovered delight in my heart, which can be shared with others to benefit them beneath the guidance of His great, and good hand.
All in all, my flourishing cooperation and compatibility with Christ Jesus, His Holy Spirit and God of the Universe has been increasingly integrated into a smooth functioning team with all my personalities.
To know His will I had to know Him. I have found Him between the letters written in His Word and by those who reflect His character. So, yes I do care what He thinks of my character. I am a follower of Christ and my character is designed to reflect His lovingkindness not in my ability but in His. This is all attainable by His grace. All I had to do was ask for it. It is a gift that is accessible to all mankind!
With all that said...I want to thank You God for teaching me the way to Your heart!
Just saying is all!
Hugs,
Jessy

wow... profound growth, insight and healing is revealed in your sharing today! Blessed be the Name of God forever! I am so happy for you!
well thought out and well expressed. Do all of your system members carry this view?
Stephanie, I wish I could say yes to your question. Since this concept is so new in my thoughts I have a tendency to forget it in some of my other personalities. They all are aware of this amazing revolution, but not all have embraced it yet. We are working on that! Trusting in God is harder for some of them than others. I don\'t think I could honestly say in the future that we have arrived, but I know it\'s a continuos work in progress. Even if I move slowly to understanding I will be grateful. Just as long as I am moving forward. Deep sigh! always so much work to living!
Hugs to you my friend,
Jessy
