The Beach
I was watching the Weather Channel today, in coastal Florida we are having to keep an eye on the weather this week. The reporter was standing onthe beach, and even though the waves were a bit rough, it looked so beautiful. I thought, I'll never be able to take Cassi to the beach again. Because she is not coming home.
I know this. I am very aware of it. I have cried my weight in tears because of it. We don't even really like the beach. I mean it's pretty, but Cassi and I don't like to be hot, or get sandy, or wet. We just aren't beach people. We took her when she was little and liked to play in the sand, but that was many years ago.
I don't even want to go to the beach. But I can't stop crying because I can never take her again. Because she is not coming home.

Go to the park and swing, relax and think of when you were young then let your mind go to good memories of Cassi when you took her to the park. Keep those memoires close to your heart. I have begun to enjoy my memories of Mike growing up they now make me smile.

Those realizations and realities when they come in hurt a lot. I know... I'll never forget watching my sister dance with her eldest son at his wedding and it crushed me. I had to wear the heaviest mask that day I've worn in years that day five years ago realizing that this moment I would never, ever have with my son... deepest of sighs...
With you and caring dearest Gina and wishing that we could continue to make memories with our children in this present moment, rather than having to draw upon them. Deepest of sighs...
Hand in hand, Heart to heart,

I have cried over the "silliest" things which are anything BUT silly to our broken hearts!! I get it. And I'm sorry.
I have had this wistful times and let my mind go there on many occasions. A song, a scent takes me back. During these times I try to remember something we said to each other, or him to me...a place we went...I have so many great memories...I really try to focus on these...but there are times I get caught up with what could have been...I go there if I have the need, but find more joy in the memories that he left residing in my heart to get me through until we are all reunited once more.
(((((hugs dear Gina)))))
Gina, there is so much more we should be doing with our kids...it's wrong and so painful. We grieve them, we grieve what we are missing. It's so hard. Sending love and understanding, Linda
