that went well....
after MUCH back and forth and agonizing over the decision of whether or not to attend my ex FIL 80th bday I went. On the way there I was singing along to the radio and determined to hold my head high and go in with a positive attitude. And it was nothing short of amazing. Everyone came up to and hugged ma and told me how much they missed me and said I looked great and we chatted and caught up - aunts uncles, cousins, sisters, etc... I felt to loved and valued. I got a burst of spontaneous generosity and hugged the new GF and that felt good too. Why not?! LOL I only stayed a little over an hour and left feeling on top of the world. I did the right thing. I got two texts later from people at the party - One said "You are such a class act! Very impressed with how you handle yourself!" The other said, "We like you so much better than her. " LOL!! Anyway, I feel like the atittude can actuall help and will remind myself of this going forward in life!!!!!

I'm happy for you that you made up your mind about this. How well you handled it. Sometimes we let the what ifs make us anxious. You are so strong to have worked thru this.
