THAT'S MY MOM!!!

Update on mom   its been a very trying weeks...Knowing the right decisions...Finally the decision was/is Pallative Care....After mom teturned to the nursing home, she had lost so much weight...She would not eat or drink...How long can someone live refusing to eat or drink.  Each visit ended with my husband and i walking out of the nursing home saying this is it...She was being taught to pick up her spoon   to put the food in her mouth   to eat  then to swallow....It was so sad to watch.  She barely could hold her head up.  

This past week we went a day early to visit....when we walked in they told us she was in Therapy...We walk in and they are working on her standing.  She is so weak  When she sees us she lights up..but her response was strange (Dementia)She says.  "WELL, DIDNT THINK YOU WOULD EVÈR VISIT AGAIN" I SAID MOM I COME EVERY WEEK  SHE SEEMS STUNNED.  EVEN THE THERAPIST WAS TELLING HER WE COME ALL THE TIME.  She then changed (Dementia).  Dont think she knew who I was at first.  Now the light switch, she knows me.  SHE IS NOW BOUNCING THE RED BALL DOING GREAT CARRYING ON A CONVERSATION WITH 3 OF US  ..SHE'S BACK...HOW LONG I DONT KNOW...BUT THROUGH IT ALL SHE STILL GETS UP IN THE MORNINGS...GET DRESSRD  PUTS HER JEWERLY ON...SHE HAS NOT LOST HER PRIDE...WELL, THAT'S MY MOM.  LEFT THAT DAY FEELING HAPPIER.   WAY TO GO MOM!!!!
