That Frantic Feeling

There are so many things wrong in my life right now and none of them seem to be fixable. It's making me feel really anxious, angry and depressed all at once. I'm starting to feel a little bit manic from stress. I wish everything was fixed - just gotta live through it I guess. Sure wish I could relax.

Hang in there heretic, this too shall pass, even thought you don\'t feel like it now. This illness comes in cycles. My recipe for contentment is to lower my expectations and live in denial and detachment. Works for me!

Maybe a little Xanax? =) I like Shineys recipe too. If you can\'t fix it ignore it?

Yup, not much we can do but wait it out and minimise stress and triggers as much as possible. When do you next see your doctor?

Many times the stress of life exacerbates things. I often believe that many people\'s mental health conditions would be much more manageable if life wasn\'t made so artificially stressful through our current uncaring social structure devoid of social support systems.

I just try to find things to help me escape reality and ignore the stressors. The maddening thing is that we have been socialized and conditioned to impose these stressors upon ourselves with our senses of responsibility turned around and used upon us. If only we could say, \"Screw it,\" and actually mean it and not care.

Anyways, just some thoughts and I sincerely hope you feel better really soon.

Hi Heretic. My Bipolar/OCD, feelings \'flare\' up or down when a smooth running schedule is broken apart by events out of my control. It spins me into an emotional \'limbo, a painful, frightening trigger that fires up the \'fight (anger) or flight.\'(withdrawal) reflex...till I can regroup, identify...There is an author, a reporter, Brooke Gladstone...She puts it very well...she writes...\"Well I can\'t really process things unless I\'m reporting them, know what I mean? Like when the twin towers fell...my station was nearby. We had to evacuate.....so I couldn\'t report it. Couldn\'t explain it to other people. So I couldn\'t explain it to myself. My head almost exploded.\" That\'s what she wrote and for me what she says points up for me the value of \'self-talk\' if we first can explain it to other people. It\'s another reason why people need people to find self balance. Just some food for thought and a prayer things \'lighten up\' a bit for you.
