Thanksgiving trivia

the turkey bird is not named after the country. The name came about due to a case of mistaken identity and trade routes, as European traders who brought the bird to Europe were the same ones who traded guinea fowl, which they also associated with the "Turkey" region. This created a mix-up where the American bird was given the name of the bird that came through the Ottoman Empire.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Interesting! Beautiful view! And did you know that while today "Jingle Bells" is known as a Christmas song, it was originally written for Thanksgiving? James Lord Pierpont wrote the song, and it was first performed for a Thanksgiving service at his family member's church.
