Thanksgiving Down..

Christmas still to go. It's always something in retail. You gotta take the bad with the good, though. I still struggle with that and I've been at my store for 12 years.

I'm still struggling balancing all of my tasks, though. I was actually able to do all of my tasks last Friday, even if not 100%, all my areas got touched. It was a great feeling! But then all weekend, I ended up getting stuck on a register. I can't stand being in that box anymore. The plexiglass surrounding the register does feel like a box and I feel like I'm suffocating. And nobody cares.

I was resolved to tell the store manager that I need to get transferred from my department - especially since my supervisors do not care that the tasks that he has assigned me get done or not - and the few times I saw him, he's been busy. And now he's on vacation.

So I think in the meantime, I am trying to let my department manager know that I cannot be stuck on a register all day, that the tasks need to be done, and if the situation doesn't change or at least get a little better, that I will demand a department change. I just can't keep feeling like crap at work everyday. I have plenty of other emotions that I don't need to feel like crying because of work.

You're writing it out.

That's the thing about retail, you get called in to work in other departments. It is part of the business.
