Hello friends,
We did get some good news today. Steve remains stable and thats the really good part. I am so grateful and feel so blessed. He is a very strong man, who outwalks me in the hospital halls.
He did have some cloudy places in his lung, probably from the radiation. His doctor sent him home with a breathing thingie magiggie to blow in. Has a little ball in it you have to make rise to the top. He blew it to the top and the nurse told him he blew it like a 20 year old. Of course the old man grinned like a monkey! LOL The doctor thinks that his lung may "be soft" and the breathing machine will help out the situation. The whiteness showing in his lung prevents seeing the lung clearly. He is not able to have contrast any longer because of the high level of creatine. So he will huff and puff for as long as it takes.

Wanda what great news. I am so up for good news like this. Woo hoo!!!!!!The thing he is blowing into is called a spirometer. After I cruched my ribs I had to do the same thing every 15 minutes wile I was awake, to ward off pneumonia. It\'s so fun to watch that little ball. You stay on him to do what he needs to do, next time his report will glow and the lungs will be strengthened. I will keep my fingers crossed.. Hugs Jane

Hi wanda good to hear the news. You had mentioned some cloudy places in his lung, probably from the radiation; I just want to know that if he is only taking sutent or some radiotherapy as well.

Wanda, this is wonderful news. What a great Christmas present for you both and your family. I am so happy for you. My husband had a spirometer (thanks, Jane) after his quadruple bypass some years ago so I know the effort it takes to get the ball to the top. I continue to keep you both in my heart and thoughts.

When and where did Steve have radiation? I don\'t recall. The doctor didn\'t say it was fluid in his lungs did he? If so, they can drain that, you know.
Well rejoice in the good news, and keep that spirometer ball up high as your spirits.

so happy to hear your great news about Steve, you couldn\'t ask for a better Christmas gift than this, thats for sure !! Steve is a fighter but Wanda there is no one that fights harder for Steve than you do.. I consider Steve a very lucky man to have you in his life, it is you who has pushed him at times when he needed to be pushed and it\'s you who has been right along side with him thru out all these years. Wanda, you are such a very big part of the way Steve is doing today, you are such a great caregiver, wife, mom, and also a very special friend to so many of us.. I am so happy for you both..
