Talk about being knocked a few steps back

Dear DS diary,
It appears that my inconsistencies with sleep have finally noticeably caught up with me.  Earlier this week, I felt very sluggish and actually winked off a couple of times because I continue to have problems sleeping through the night with any consistency.
Last night, I tried isochronic tones -- I used one for chattering minds that I found on YouTube (no joke, it does exist!), and for a few hours I did sleep better.  But I was having constipation issues earlier in the day, and at 1:30am nature called.  When it did, that was the name of that tune...I really don't know what to do when I wake up in the middle of the night that will get me back asleep fast unless I'm totally exhausted, so my restful sleep was ruined right there.
I feel like crap because I am one of those people who has to get eight hours of sleep a night, or else.  And I can tell...my concentration has been bad this week, my coordination has been worse, and of course I REALLY didn't like falling asleep in my workstation twice this week.
The boss wants me to take tomorrow off; this was established first thing this morning.  I will choose to take it, hoping that I am on the right track with the isochronic tones.  But if I wake up in the middle of the night again, I'll be screwed because I don't know what to do.
This is making me doubly frustrated because I started a Facebook page to vlog about my fitness journey, because I really want to get started with the PiYo program that arrived at my door this week.  But this latest spat of sleep issues has set that back at least another week...(sigh)...

I understand what you mean. Ever since I got sick and developed my sleep disorder, if I don\'t get a minimum of 10 hours of sleep a night, not only does my cognitive function significantly worsen, I also get physically ill.

See, I told you the isochronic tones work. This is the one I listen to every night and it has significantly improved my sleep. My doctor even saw the improvement in my sleep on my EEG.

I can also recommend some over the counter supplements to help with sleep, if you want. One of them was highly recommended by my doctor, who is a sleep specialist. It is the only pill that has helped me sleep and I notice that I can\'t sleep when I go without it. Almost no other medications have worked for me.

Sorry, I don\'t mean to spam your journal and try to sell you things.

Can you do you workouts in the evening or before bed? That would probably help you sleep better. Also, look into meditating.

Is it partially your anxiety keeping you awake at night? Maybe you could write in a journal or call someone to calm down. Play with your adorable cockatiel to relax. Playing with pets is proven to help relieve anxiety and depression.

At least, your boss is understanding though.

Um, Meggie...that was not a spam. That was a suggestion. Your response was just fine the way that it was.

Could I do my workouts in the evening? I probably could, plus there is a space in my house where I can do them at that hour and not freak anybody out. In fact it\'s what I used to do; no idea why that stopped or for how long.

Speaking of my cockatiel, I really should have used my lappy last night to record some time with her so that you could see what usually takes place when she\'s on my knee. But I\'ll have some more chances to do that (plenty more, actually), so I\'ll just have to make myself a reminder note.

Is it my anxiety? It\'s hard to say...in my instance, I would say that you are at least partially correct, but I\'m starting to wonder if maybe it\'s something more than that? Um, I\'m about to journal again soon so maybe I\'ll elaborate on that.

PiYo before bed could be a solution.Try it to see how your body reacts that late. Some people will sleep like a baby while others get a burst of energy. You will find your groove then stick to it! Also the Shakeology will keep you regular if you get my drift :)

Hoping the isochronic tones worked for you. I know how awful it is to be sleep deprives
