Taking a Step
Well, tomorrow we will leave for AL. It will be the first time going back to AL since Ken died. We are going about 50 miles north of where he lived to watch is son, my grandson's spring football game.
I love her and the kids and they are what I have left of Ken's on-going life. It is his wife of 27 1/2 years, his kids, his grandkids. My grandkids and great grandkids.
So here's hoping for a good visit, a winning game for the spring football game, and knowing Kenny would want us to be there.
I love you Ken. We will be watching the game for you son. Love mom

You need to be proud of your efforts if for no other reason than your son and grandson. I can only imagine how proud your grandson will be to have you there, and if things get difficult, just remember you are doing it for him, I hope the trip goes well for you, Love, Charlene
Sandi, I hope you have a good trip and that she makes you feel welcome. Enjoy your weekend with the grandkids and the spring football game. I\'m sure Ken will be watching over you all. Hugs, Kim
have a wonderful trip, and enjoy your grand kids kenny would want that not a bunch of hostilty..... be extra nice to his wife she must be hurtingand don,t want to talk. i really don,t know but just seeing kennys kids should be a happy occasion for you and husband and for his kids. hugs zzztop
Not sure if you\'ve left for your trip yet or not, but wanted to say I think it\'s wonderful that you are going. Give your love and support at every opportunity. I think I\'d try to find a quiet moment to have a gentle talk with your DIL about your fears/concerns/hopes. If the moment doesn\'t present itself, perhaps you could write to her and explain how you want to be close, to be what she needs, and to remain an intricate part of your grandchildrens\' and great grandchildrens\' lives. Wishing you all the best and a winning game for your grandson! Love, Teri.
I hope that it goes well and the daughter in law just needed a little time on her own before embracing the family. You can always keep in contact with the grandchildren whether daughter in law wants to or not
Here\'s hoping it goes well. Sometimes if you really want to know the answer, you must just ask the question. Hugs cathy
I\'ll be praying for this trip to be a huge step in improving relations with you DIL. If she was always kind of reclusive, it may be that she is just over whelmed from losing her husband - her main link to you - and is having a difficult time that no one else can understand. I think I\'d just keep praying about it and try to let her know sh\'es still part of the family and you love her. I hope your grandson has a great game and all of you have some healing, quality time together.
Sandy

I hope that you have a wonderful visit! My son died without ever having any kids of his own. I hope your kids/grandkids blow them out of the game! Hugs B
