Taking a leave of Absence from work

I went back to work today after my vacation. Because I help take

care of my older parents, they and my eldest sister asked me today to see if I could

take a leave of absence work. They're all concerned.

For one they want me to quarentine after my

exposure this morning. And two they want me to be ok and be able to help them

and visit with them and be with them as well. So, I spoke to my store manager

and she was cool with it and supportive. I left a message for my direct boss and got her voicemail.

I will be going back to work on MAY 5. It's weird. I suppose I will get to know my

cat very very well. I'll be alone the next two weeks. In my space capsule headed to Mars.

Me and the cat. Me and Blue. I'll be in touch with you guys. Sending good vibes and kharma.

Good decision, mark. Cats are the best companions!!!

Dogs are, actually

Dogs are good companions too. But cats are the best when that’s your current companion.

I would have a dog if I could. If I worked from home everyday I would! But cats are cuddly and snuggly.

Cats are so cuddly and snuggly, I try to roll over at night but there's a lump of black and white fluff balled up against my back or lodged in my side! They're pretty intuitive, she knows that something is definitely not right these days.

Thor was there...
when the drugs didn't work
when the talk didn't work
when the hospitals didn't work

He was there in the dark when I was alone and I sought my own life.

We walked through the nights and we talked. I walked in the middle of the night so much that the local waffle house saw us all the time and invited us in for a bite. He sat at the booth and awaited his dish of bacon. I still mourn him. He died when I was in the hospital.

So now is the perfect time to adopt Thor’s little brother in spirit!!

Big hug for you sweetie... I'm glad that you're taking time off..... We aren't supposed to be visiting though ….. You could take a walk with your folks and just stay 6 feet apart.... These are such strange times Marky...…. xo

Spencer have you ever considered getting a new doggy to be your new buddy? I know you can't replace Thor but there might be a space in your hear for a new doggy...

I personally wish that I could be isolated without my 30 year old grouchy son....if someone needs a "person" to be isolated with I'll be glad to donate him!!! LOL

I think it is a good idea to take the leave of absence. I did the same for 6 weeks. I'm thinking positive that all this will be over by then, but I doubt it.

The house is the wrong type of house for a dog. I would love one but I need a place with a yard for them to run in and potty in. I don't have that now. I would love a new Boxer but Thor was such a good dog. My wife spent all day with him so he minded really well. I remember when I was at the Pentagon in a high-stress job, I would come home and take him for a walk with no lease and I would sip scotch while we walked. we would walk all through the neighborhood. I miss him but I don't have a life now that would support a dog properly.
