Tables turning

As I was unpacking boxes from our move from Ohio to Florida and I came across an old journal entry from October 2006. It was like I had a premonition that this was going to happen. I wrote that I needed to prepare myself because I felt God had something planned for me and that I had to regain my independence and start taking control of things for myself. It also revealed how dissapointed I was with my relationship with my now X. A reality moment hit me. Something or some event led up to that entry and I really can't recall what it was. But I also mention how dissapointed he was with me and actually writing that he's right about a conversation we had about me being selfish. I was so passive and agreeable to him. Like he was always right...he wasn't and when I stood up for what I believed after my daughters accident he didn't agree and choose to leave the marriage because HE felt it was the right thing to do! How dare him make that decision when our family needed him.

You could call this experience \"a defining moment\" and I\'m glad you found that old journal! My journals were a treasure trove of insights when I finally dragged them out of the attic and read them during my divorce. Believe it or not, I still had all my old journals from 1974 (met the X in 1976) and time after time I had written \"I would be better off to let this one go.\" We lived together for 6 years before marriage, but broke up three times in those 6 years. Well, hindsight is a wonderful tool, what more can I say.BUT I will also say that I learned some valuable lessons in all of this that I will carry with me for the rest of my days. For that I am grateful!
