Surviving Loss
My husband passed away March 19/15 - 2 days ago. I can't stop crying....I can't sleep....I can't process or accept or deal with the fact that I will never see him again, never hold him again, never hear his voice again in this lifetime. I don't know if the pain will ever go away..my heart is broken...I feel like throwing up...I don't know what to do...Will this get any easier?

I am so so sorry for your loss. You are in the most painful part of the grief journey. Please post on the main board as often as you like and the incredible people here will give you the support you need. I have been here 2 years and this place has gotten me through some very dark days. Yes the pain does become less intense but the journey of grief is a very very difficult one. God bless.
Hi wendimac. I remember that first week... I felt like I couldn\'t breathe or move without crying. After a while the pain softened, and with the help of friends, support groups, and some therapy, I started feeling better and moving forward. You will too. As Gerry said, you\'re at the most painful point. Sending hugs and prayers.

Oh...yes I remember too. It is gut wrenching when you first lose your spouse. Most of us remember not being able to sleep, eat, think, stop crying, feeling scared. It\'s a rough time. But it does change over time. Each one has to find their own way to survival. I reached out to friends and family. I skyped with my son every morning until I felt okay, as that was my hardest time. I took Benadryl to sleep. Eventually saw my doctor and got on Lexapro and began counseling. It took about a month of twice weekly sessions, and for the medication to start working, but I began to function again. It\'s a hard road, but you will eventually smile again, in between the times of tears and sadness. Two books that have been very helpful are \"Seven Choices: Finding Daylight after Loss Shatters Your World\", and \"Widow to Widow\". Both can be found on Amazon, with inexpensive used copies available. I also joined a free Hospice support Group, which has been the best. You can post on the main forum here, and you will get a lot of good feedback. It helps to know you are not alone, and we all really relate to each other here. So sorry for your loss, and wish you strength on your journey. ~ Lori
BTW - I\'m 10 months out since losing my beloved and wonderful husband.
Thank you for your kind words of encouragement...and I am so sorry for your losses...I\'m going into day 3, and just can\'t get it together...I have an appointment at a funeral home on Tuesday, which I\'m dreading...it just makes it more real...
