Survive Loneliness - how does one do it.

How does one survive loneliness?  I have never lived alone for that long.  I think when I was single it was for 1 1/2 years.  I usually lived at home with my mom and two brothers, lived with room mates, married, common-in-law with Smokey and now.  Its hard.  It sucks.
I guess the secret it to keep active or busy.  When one is on an extreme budget, it gets challenging.  The highlight of my week is babysitting my grandson for 3 days, my older brother comes over for a visit, get together with my girlfriend every other week or contact  my friends via email.  Not all my friends live in the Lower Mainland.  I think even grocery shopping is a highlight for me.
The last two days I have been reorganizing my shelves and storage containers.  I like it.
I am trying to recycle or dispose of my dresser hutch.  I have a lot of no's from various organizations.  Even UGM won't take it.  I have tried Recycling Council of BC who recommended me to:  Homestart Foundation, Eversafe Ranch, SPCA Thrift Store, Canadian Diabetes, and Salvation Army.  I can pay by the Delta Landfill or pay thru 1-800-Got-Junk.  these are my options.  I am still waiting for 3 of the above recommendations.  It sucks trying to get rid of furniture.  Not every place accepts them.  Some you have to take to and I have no means of transportation as I don't drive.  Its an old fashioned hutch with mirror and shelves on the side for the dresser.  I am trying to modernize my bedroom and remove the memory of Smokey.  It was his furniture.  I want the dresser and add an oval mirror to it or a picture.
Let me know what is new with you as I am really interested in it all from Diane
