sunflower seeds and birds.

i started a new long container of sunflower seeds a few days ago........here's the dilemma, the songbirds have discovered it and are enjoying the seeds with their slender shoots like crack addicts.  such pretty pretty birds.......tearing up the sunflower babies.

they knocked dirt and seeds and mess all over the big table, all over the patio........it's like watching super models eat like no one's watching.........after starving themselves for a decade.  i put another layer of light soil on top of what's left......sprayed the hose to clean up the mess........they didn't touch the ones i grew for sara & hubby.  so how did they discover these?  wonder if any of them will make it?

the ground is so muddy and soft, a good time to get those lady fern roots in the ground.  and transplant the lillies.......but there's just one hitch......getting me to take it on.  i want to, but it's that pain that comes so soon after.......i will soon.  causes that's what i do.....

if i could i would like to go visit a museum.......i used to love strolling through an art gallery......i've never been to the aquarium.....but what i'd really like to do would be to visit a planetarium.  not sure where the closest one is........if i asked to go to one for mommy's day would that be too much to ask?  it would mean minimal walking.......so i don't think they would object unless it's in a land far far away.

a festival would be fun, but the kids would probably think i'd have a hard time managing.......still i would love to try if i'm feeling ok.

the other thing i've been craving?  a steak........a really good cut of grilled meat.  nummmmmmmmmmmy.

i woke up around 3:30 last night, really nauseous.  i felt funny, that weird revved up feeling i get when i sleep in the day sometimes.  i flipped the light switch on and my face/eyes were puffy........had marks on my face from my pillow.  that's not normal.  still puffy this morning.......it's getting better now......but the nausea was kicking my tail until about an hour ago.

thinking something in the enchiladas set this off.  but what would have done it?  the mild green chiles?  maybe, but seems unlikely, the cheese or sour cream? no.  the tortillas, the chicken?  the low sodium chicken broth, the flour or butter?  nothing seems likely......but something did it.

getting closer on the whole car accident situation........the first check was dispersed to an address i haven't lived at since 2001.  that was IRRITATING.....called them to fuss.  still waiting on the ok from my insurance company to say ok to the other insurance company to reimburse me for the car repair deductible.......hopefully i'll have all that money back within ten days at the latest.  they will be depositing money in my account for the medical bills.  that is up to me to pay to my health insurance.

i let my health insurance know on three separate occasions, and then found out today that they never opened a claim......so that of course pushes things back again.  you'd think that all these companies that do these specific things daily would be better at settling claims then this.  i had a serious disaster in my first home years ago, a pipe burst, flooding the basement.........that check came very quickly.  this has been a test of patience......today was so frustrating.  the guy in the division that subragates claims was sand papery by nature........felt like he wanted to be a lawyer for the other side.  grilling me instead of calmly asking for information.  i stopped the conversation and asked him to take a breath.  then i told him that i clearly told the hospital ER staff that this was due to an accident and i had informed united healthcare on three separate occasions via the phone..........so he needed to take things down a notch or ten........cause this was now my fourth call and if not for me they may not have figured things out until 2021.

he took it down a notch, but sadly the damage lingered.  it felt like i was being accused somehow.......i was the victim.

i'll give you an example.....he asked me if i was driving or the passenger.  before i could respond he asked me if i was driving a rental, some one else's car or my own car.  he wanted to know if i owned my car......was i alone, who else was in the car.

he didn't say i'm going to  run a list of questions/options for you to consider, then we'll go back and clarify what happened. nor did he allow me to simply tell him what happened......it seemed more obnoxious than necessary. but eventually he more or less calmed down, and then i find that he's just a basic info intake guy......apparently he's bucking for a promotion at my expense.  i hope when they review the tape they help him become a human.

i'm going to watch a few episodes of Forensic Files, then hunt for a good movie to watch.  maybe pop some corn later.......it's a good night to toss a throw blanket over my legs and work on a crossword puzzle.  i got a new project i will start soon, it's a christmas stocking.....it's big enough that even with my eyes i will be able to enjoy the stitching.......it's one of those projects that has the artwork stamped on.....you use yard to make it holiday fun.  got it at the 50% off estate sale for $2........what a happy find!  it was originally priced at $27.99 at Michaels.  bruce told me i'm a super deal getter........that was a sweet thing to say!

my journey shelf was all wonky ...... it was leaning downward......UH OH!  i took all the journey jars off.....stored them on a tray and need to see what can be done going forward. it made a mess where the left holder upper thing was in the wall.  needs to be repaired.  i don't think i want to put that shelf back up.  instead i think i need to look for a tall slender shelving unit.  a curio cabinet is out of my range, but sara says that ikea has some cute stuff.  what i really want is a 5 shelf bookshelf that has ten shelves in it to hold all the journey jars and memorabilia from trips (taken by me or the kids).  but i don't think there is such a thing.......

tired now, thanks for being YOU.........you're wonderful!  the birds are singing.....probably sharing the news about the DELICIOUS sunflower seeds .........that really bums me out!

AGH! I hate dealing with insurance. It's awful! I have been sick too and my girls were too. I wonder if there is something going around. Hope you feel better soon. Love you.

Ruthie - If you mention insurance around me my BP immediately shoots up as I have had my share of battles & wars with many insurance people. I actually told one several years ago that I hoped she could sleep at night with the way she treated people & that was one of my milder moments. LOL

Also hope you find that big steak soon.

You might try craigslist for that shelving unit. There are always lots of things available for free there. Just go to the 'Free' section. You can't lose anything that way. If you're in a hurry, do a search for what you specifically want and see what pops up.
