sunday, sitting down at 11:21 am.

puttering around the house, making the fixin's for potato salad.  they had a great deal on red potatoes yesterday.

yes, i made it out of the house.  i went to Beall's, then the parking lot of Goodwill....decided that was a bad idea and headed to Potter's House Thrift Store, still get in exercise that way, but it's a much smaller store for a hurting person.  as i walked into the place a lady looking at purses and turned to look at me, she said you sound just like me.......i've heard that from elderly people for over twenty years.

apparently i was emitting pain aches out loud not realizing it......ok, yesterday wasn't the best day to go out, but i was getting nutty spending so much time in my tent in the woods.  it's good to get out among people.  the nice lady and i chatted for a bit, then i wandered around leaning on a shopping cart.  didn't spend so much as one thin dime......saved my nickels for the grocery store.

got a good cart at Ingles......."not too slow, not too fast, just right!" said Grandma Goldilocks.  at the end of my shopping i went to the deli counter for some chicken tenders.  yup, the big splurge......the lady offered to cook up a fresh batch as the ones under the lights were not so fresh.  how kind of her to do that, she could have stuck me with the ucky ones, but she was kind!

i noticed all the blooming trees and plants in abundance on my drive there and back........so pretty, spring is coming in fast!

sara and hubby are in the mountains this week end with friends......sam called late last night to talk about a plan for sara's birthday.  he is so stressed, but hopes to be able to help with taxes soon.  he usually does his first cause they are harder, then mine cause it's pretty breezy plus he gets a homecooked meal momma style!

when i was at beall's i ran into the lady from my dentist's office, i think her name is melissa.  she was moving mighty slow....she was with her mother in law Olive....it was her first time out of the house for some fun, not doctor stuff since her surgery a couple of weeks ago, she is the lady who had umbilical cancer......she had been doing well for some time, in remission, but then it came back and they said it was stage III.  when they went in they removed several lymph nodes and installed drain lines......probably not exactly what they are called.....poor thing.........she was so white.....the pale pallor of illness on her face but she had that grit, that grim determination to have a walk while looking at pretty things......exercise paired with retail therapy can help take a person out of their own head........i know it helps me!  we hugged and chatted.....and then i watched her toddle off......i could see the pain but she was determined to make a lap around that store.  i've been in her shoes many times......that day was no different.  i hope, pray and wish that she will have more time on this planet, with her hubby, family.....friends and loved ones.  she is a dear and caring young woman!

enough of my chatter for now......i need to put the rugs in the dryer.  the eggs and taters are cooling in the frig, they will be turned into tater salad for dinner along with some of those chicken tenders and sliced tomatoes.  yummmmmm......looking forward to dinner!

hugs!

Your chicken tenders sound good and freshly made! Glad you got out a bit. I so know how walking can be a challenge. My knees ache and so do my shoulders. Prayers for you and the lady who is going through cancer. Awful disease. I can smell the blossoms from the neighbors tree. So nice. Sort to hear Sam is stressed but glad he called. Take care Serce ❤️
