sunday musings.......
the rain.........how i love the rain.
if you ever need a thousand million kisses, the rain will provide.
if you're blue, the rain will match the mood
if you're happy on a summer day and the rain comes, your feet can dance in the sudden puddles
splashing isn't just for birds and pups ya know.
the rain gives me cover........just like the sun.
the sun and i are both playing hide n seek this day
i did my chores. good girl, gold star. pat on the back.
ate brunch.........the kitties watched me dine avidly.
hoping for a scrap of anything to drop.
last night i found annie licking the kitchen sink.
my sweet green eyed purr bucket of an annie cat
...a sink licker!
what?????????????
seems like the pet parents are the last to know.
other than me and you most folks don't even know of Rio's feline existence.
he's a hider....under the bed, behind the couch, runs to anywhere unfamiliar people smells are not.
but he's a very social kittums around me......the second they are gone he's runs and flings himself on mylap.
as though to say, finally the boogey man is gone.......mom, why'd you let them stay so long.
my cats need more socialization, but i don't see me creating a kitty play group in the near ever of ever of ever.
so what is gonna happen today?
not much. enjoying clean hair, fresh cotton on my back.......the sound of the washing machine. the silence after the rain.......everything is so wet. loving the quiet green outside the window.
if we're not spring chickens anymore does that make us fall chickens?
recently i saw a small plaque that said if you didn't know your age, what age would you be?
i've been thinking on that........somewhere between 7 and 81.
got a haircut so i can SEE again.........Lisa has decided to call me the "silver fox".......ha ha ha.......she's a nice lady and she thinks i should become a comedian.
it's good to get out, cause even if we're not perfect, or healthy or able to get out much, when we do.....we get to meet nice someones like Lisa, the hair stylist........who listens and shares and hugs.
and that is the gratitude i was looking for.......I am grateful for Lisa, because she sees people, she treats each person as an individual worth getting to know. that has always been a long time goal of mine, to be like that.........so when i see if i feel that reaffirming life stir within, to continue to strive to see others.......and to not knock down or rip apart compliments when they come my way.......do you do that? refute people when they compliment you or are you able to just say thank you........you're so kind!
i am reading the oddest book, Valeria's Last Stand. So unlike anything I normally read......I am intrigued by this writer........at times I hate the way he describes people in his story and at other times I am in awe of how he moves the story along.
the most recent thing he did that i thought was so cool? he divides the book into two parts......i've just entered part two........to open part two he begins speaking about a bicycle in Eastern Europe. it was a gift to this chap, then that girl, then that person, then this one........it was stolen, then recooped......then more and more and more owners of this bicycle until it came into the hands of the chimney sweep who is riding into the village we have come to know about in book one.
this author writes of wars and anarchists and crazy capitalists and pitiful stupid peasants and while at times i want to throw the book at the wall........i keep picking it up and turning the pages. i think this book is good for me, i am seeing words reassembled in ways that intrigue and excite me as a lover of the written word.........often he writes as though he is a woman in her fifties and again another woman in her sixties and when he does i want to call him across the mat........i don't know of any women who think or talk like that.......and i think he doesn't know women that well.......or does he?
maybe i need to expand my views........and maybe he needs to understand that women are not cut from the same cloth.....what i want is to sit down with this author and have it out......talk about his book.
huh..........i didn't see that coming.......i am grateful to feel good enough to read........something as deep and intricate as this book. normally i wouldn't be able to manage it........so that's a sigh of good things.
just me rambling and thinking out loud in journal mode. i wish it was somebody's birthday, cause i want cake. let's light some candles and sing the song..........and have a treat later.

Celebrated that very thing today with kids and grands, what time are you coming over for cake!?
Not a spring chicken hey. Then you\'re an old autumn chook lol!!.I had a big chocolate and cream cake for my birthday on the 19th.You know it would be old and mouldy if I sent you some.Anyway the cream made me terribly sick for days.Self punishment due to uncontrolled lusty desires lol! My daughter Shantali and Mischa now have a cat for the first time and just loving him to bits.I had a little snuggle with him yesterday. They already have a little fox terrier dog and the dog is over the moon happy with his new kitty mate. They play games and sleep together at night.I think that dog always thought he was a cat anyway. He never barks.Glad you enjoyed your book and that it was something a little different and stimulating. Oh no I just lost a few sentences? ???
Well I\'m just here on my bed...nobody else home.I am going to try and walk around the back yard a few times . I\'m weak. Not unusual.I have an appointment at 5pm with a psychologist to try some hypnotherapy again for my insomnia. The sleeping tabs ars wrecking me . Can\'t think clearly
My tablet is being very naughty and playing tricks.Could be my tired brain.OK getting up...the day is running away from me.Gotta move this body so I know I\'m still alive.Bye for now....I\'ll be back.xo
I was so pleased to hear about your hairstylist, Lisa. Isn\'t lovely when you meet someone who is open and warm? My hairstylist is like that too. I\'ve often thought that a good hairstylist is part stylist, part psychologist. Glad you are up and about and have some clean clothes. Love you.
My wonderful Tiki is also a hider. He used to be sociable but then a year ago something happened with a cat sitter. I don\'t know what it was, but now he dos NOT like strangers, especially men! Right now he\'s sitting between me and the hubby getting belly rubs. Later he will cuddle in my armpit and fall asleep when I\'m laying down. But if that doorbell rings, he\'s GONE for hours! I don\'t know where. Usually under the bed, but not always. Willow, my brain damaged cat, LOVES people! Go figure!
Take care of yourself!
Hug hug!
