Sunday morning
It's Sunday morning and I am laying in bed watching tv. I go to yoga soon. I saw part of an interesting documentary yesterday about brain health. I liked how it recommended good activity to teach your mind new things(neuroplasticity). The activities we give our mind help support its functionality and health. I really need to challenge myself more and so this will be another project and regimen.

Hope the fires are getting contained.
Thanks Chris
Uh-oh. . . Warning! Warning! You're pushing my nerd buttons again. . .
The part of the neuro plasticity theories I was drawn to like a moth to a flame is the use of foreign language to route new neural pathways around traumatic brain injuries. Proof was still unavailable the last time I looked, but I favor the theory that my PTSD is a type of TBI. For sure, magic happens when I translate my nastiest thought loops, etc., into a new language. It really does seem to take the symptoms down a whole new pathway in my head.
I've been following the work at the Stockholm Brain Institute closely enough that I might be in danger of learning how to read Swedish. It makes far more sense to me than the hardwired left/right brain theories.
That’s cool Arfie! I like the idea of studying another language and I have also seen improvement in my own abilities when I have a distraction. And as a side comment I like “the Swedish chef” .... lol just kidding.. I guess now I’ve dated myself.
That does sound interesting Arf….. Good for you for challenging yourself Marky.... Way to go..... I read a great deal.... I don't know if that would be considered challenging or not but it's my favourite thing to do for me...… Big squishy hug.....xo
xo thanks Janny-Jan! :)
