Summer term and such....
Tomorrow afternoon I have to register for summer term at school... Kinda weird cause I'm having to plan summer term in a manner that allows me as much time as possible to heal after surgery and before my full load in Fall.
If registration goes like I want, then I will take 2 PSY classes that are condensed into 4 weeks (eeek!). This will be WORK!! They meet 4 days a week to get it all in, but I am hoping with it only being 8 credits I can somehow pull this off. It will be over July 19th. Then I am also going to register for a class that runs from 8-12 thru 9-8, it is on exercise for health... sounds like I good one to learn about exercise from!
All of this means I have a window of 7-22 thru 8-2 that would work great for surgery... Bridgett, the coordinator at my surgeons said she thought she could get me in that window of time. She could not give me a specific date, but felt it would be doable.
But... there are many pieces that have to fall into place for this all to work...
1. On my July 1st (the last one) NUT visit I have to have lost my 15 lbs of preop wt... Which I should be able to pull off... My personal goal is to be under 300. :) Which would be 8 lbs more that I am required to lose.
2. Get scheduled for the 2 July pre surgery nutrition classes. These cover my pre and post op diets. Erin, my NUT said she thought I could get into these. Not sure how this will overlap with my classes at school... but I don't care, I'll make it work somehow! Maybe they are evening or something...
3. Get my preop blood work done and PASS everything :)
4. Meet with nurse about hops stay.
5. Meet with surgeon.
6. Get the ok from the surgery team to even have surgery!
7. Get the final approval from INS for the actual surgery!
Sheeshe! When I type it all out it seems like sooooo much!! I just hope I can pull this all off in a manner that allows me to fit things into my window of time.
Just to be 'safe' in regards to my time allotment... I figure I can drop the 2nd class that runs from 8-12 thru 9-8. Cause if I drop that class I will have a HUGE window... July 22nd would be my first available day for surgery... and classes won't start again till 9-29. That's 2 months... of course I would need recovery time before classes, but heck, that gives me all of August and still plenty of time to get my act together for class...
Silly I guess, but i cannot help but think that if I have surgery the end of July, then by the time fall term starts I will have had 2 months of weight loss time in.... And just think, that means a smaller me for fall term and fitting into the desks so much more comfortable! And maybe even going to school without my cane!! How AWESOME would that be!?!?
So... I have rambled on and on... But it feels good to get this all laid out instead of just rolling around in my head!!
