Suicide in NYC....

Here in NYC today, we had a very famous designer, Kate Spade, commit suicide today....I looked at the comments on some of the articles, and a LOT of very famous people have depression.  It doesn't escape even the rich.....Just a sample who has or (had) it:

Alec Baldwin, Christian Bale, Beyonce, John Bon Jovi and Dwayne Johnson opened up about it very recently, Terry Bradshaw, Eric Clapton, Kurt Cobaine, Peter Gabriel, Hulk Hogan, Ernest Hemmingway, Billy Joel and Alexa Rae Joel, Angelina Jolie, Heather Locklear, etc., etc., etc., the list goes on and on...

Wow...and need I mention that since the beginning of the year here in NYC as well, FIVE taxi drivers committed suicide because they paid almost a million dollars years ago for their taxi medallions, and now it's all down the drain because Uber took over their business....so sad, all these hard working people, most of them hard working immigrants, lost all their money and their lives.

Depression is such a terrible thing, worse than any illness.  It's slow torture...

I heard about the Kate Spade suicide on the news. Tragic. She must have been in such a dark place. She has a daughter 13. A seemingly good life- married, career, child. I struggle with how someone could leave their child motherless. My depression is not as severe as hers because I can't imagine a time where I could do that to my son. She must have been in total despair. Just shows how even our close family members don't always know (or want to know) how much we are suffering.
