suddenness of new allergies
Been fine and dandy for months... Been good about staying away from foods I'm allergic too... But today I guess my immune system got bored... argh!!
Woke up fine and pain free - my new normal. Hung around the house for the most part since my district closed for the weather. Called a few of my nonworking friends as I worked on fish tanks and cleaning house.
Had an apple w/ peanut butter for breakfast. Took a Minocin pill for a burn in my mouth that's not healing very fast. Then I had some honey roasted peanuts for lunch.....
Well, the insidious sore throat came on around that time. Small, red lumps showed up on finger joints soon after and hands felt like they were on fire! So I took two benadryl to try and slow the allergy flare. Waited for four hours. Benadryl wasn't doing it. Now my shoulders and hips are in on the action as well as a lot of muscle pain. So I broke down and took 2mg of prednisone. Hard to swallow pills when throat hurts so much!
Obviously I've developed a new strong allergy. At least there's only four suspects: apples, peanut butter, honey roasted peanuts and Minocin. I'll have to wait for this flare to subside and test each one on separate days.
It's getting harder and harder to find stuff I can eat... Love having a psychotic immune system. Well, hopefully we'll be closed tomorrow too. I should be feeling much better by Friday.

Hope you\'ll be feeling better soon. This new allergy is something you could do without. It will be interesting to find out which is the culprit. Please let us know when you are able to test them out.
Wishes for this flare to subside quickly.
