Strange thing happened last night

I guess, until remission, I have to have these tired and weak days, but it is my kind of weather out there, and I am stuck in the house resting.   I waddled outside with some limeade for Leo as he is cleaning up last nights excitement.
Leo worked last night so I was home alone and decided to indulge myself with a whole night on the couch without that damn machine that makes my chest hurt.  I slept soundly until 3:30 am when I was awoken by the sound of a tree falling and it sounded to me if some of the branches were catching the house.
I ran from room to room, turning the outside lights on, trying to find out what had happened.  I kept playing the sound over and over in my head, as I couldn't find anything wrong.  I thought about calling Leo, but didn't truly want to admit to him that I was now certifiably crazy, experiencing auditory hallucinations.
I couldn't get back to sleep, so did odds and ends and then peeked out all the windows again as the sun came.  Nothing noted.  After my bath, I realized I was bone tired, so I put my church clothes on and then called my husband, who was just leaving work and told him I was tired and was ready for church, so he should wake me from my nap when it was time to go.
45 minutes later, I was awoke to a chainsaw.  (I should send apologies to neighbors as we are the only strange folk that run saws at 6:45 am)  I threw shoes on and ran to the sound because I knew in my heart that one of my trees had toppled.
There was my husband, out by the road, sawing up a huge oak limb that is hanging from telephone wires and partially in the road.  Now why nobody reported this earlier, I am not certain, but I sure am glad it wasn't struck by a car.
Leo grinned when he saw me run out and said "You told me to wake you!" and then I had to explain that I had heard the poor thing fall, but I had thought it was closer and that there were strange noises for about 30 seconds.  He thinks I heard the wires bouncing.  He was glad I didn't call, because he would have worried.
Funnier yet was that we had a guest preacher this morning.  He was talking about how we needed to model our Christian behavior at all times and added.  Those of you here in church set a good example for your neighbors, as they see you drive off to church this morning."  Of course I got the giggles, because I whispered to Leo "They really notice if you wake them up with a chainsaw first."

Great story Debbie! So glad the limb was away from your house. The best news....YOU were resting....saving up those spoons for the things you love most.

Debbie, when I left the hospital in Feb the had my BiPap on the lowest setting and discharged me on that. I adjusted at home. When I went back to my pulmonolgist she really wouldn\'t adjust it on her own but sent me for a sleep study. They decided on the proper settings. I wonder if yours is set too high.

Glad to hear it didn\'t hit your house, but reading your story had me waiting for the rest of the story. Good for you to rest last night! Proud of you, Debbie!
