Storm

I'm not talking about a figurative storm, but rather a literal one.

Last night, I was woken up at midnight by my step mom and told me we needed to go downstairs into the laundry room at our apartment. I was groggy and confused, as well as sleepy from melatonin pills I take at night. We get downstairs and she has a police scanner app on her phone and I'm listening to police and paramedics rushing around town because of a tornado with wind speeds of 125 miles per hour on the other side of town.

I'm hearing about houses and stores with their roofs blown off and flash flood warnings because of all the rain downpouring outside. We are sitting on the floor of the laundry room which in infested with cockroaches. I'm praying that my family and my friends are okay and that none of them are hurt. There were a lot of trees that were uprooted and traffic poles that were moved around. The apartment I live in with my dad and stepmom is okay but it was still very scary.

Hugs- Glad to hear that you were okay and hoping family friends and loved ones were safe. There are so many storms pounding different regions as of late and it is scary. It is good that families secure a "Plan of Action" that is practiced and implemented to prepare for events such as these. It is good to have a designated point of contact that if you could not have stayed at home or your stepmom or dad were not at home that "a Point of Contact " is designated that you can all meet up(eg neighbors, school, firehouse, police station". Glad you were safe Big Hug !!!

This sounds so scary! I'm glad we don't get storms like that, and I'm glad you're ok.

Yeah. There were 3 EF2 tornados that touched down. They weren't on the ground for very long but there was still quite a bit of damage. Nobody was killed. There were a few people that got hurt but we were very lucky.
