still waiting

Good morning everyone,  Well the waiting game goes on.  We are waiting on a call from the radialogist.  He has to be worked into a schedule. That tells me how many poor souls are waiting for treatment.  His treatment will be cyber knife surgery. I had in wrong in my last journal.  I looked it up on the internet and it sounds like it is very precise and efficient. No pain involved and that is a plus. I should be used to this waiting game by now but it gets on nerves sitting by the phone.  I admit I am not a very patient person.
The internet has been very helpful over the past years in dealing with cancer.  You can get a glimpse of what to expect with surgeries and such.  Steve had cyroblation on his kidney in 2002 and 2003.  We were some scared babies when that took place. Had never met the doctor and traveled from NC to Mississippi by car to have the surgery. Not FDA approved and just went on faith. Steve is more willing to try things than I, always has been. He is not afraid to take chances, me I am a wuss!!  How is that for a good southern word. (means scaredee cat)   LOL  Bet you never heard that one Meriel!!
A lot of people are praying for us.  Our church family and several other churches in the area.  And of course our friends at DS.  I sincerely thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. I have friends all over the world! Boy does that sound good, God is in charge and that is a "good thing".  Spoken like Martha Stewart  LOL
Take care my friends,
Wanda

Mornin\' Sweetie!

Hopefully, they will be able to work Steve in quickly. Will he have this done in Charlotte? Anything new is scary.

I, too, have greatly benefited from research on the web. Although, sometimes I wish I didn\'t know so much about this horrible disease. Guess I\'m a bit of a wuss too.

Yes, there is no way we could make it through this cancer journey without our precious Lord. He has a plan for each of us, and it will be perfect.

Have a wonderful day, my dear friend.

Love You,
Ingrid

Hi Wanda,

My husband had cyberknife radiation on his brain tumor and, by current appearances, it was a success. The tumor has continued to shrink over the past year. Without that, we would not be where we are today!

Thinking of you and your concerns,

Vernell

Dear Wanda, I know your wait will be over soon and Steve will get this very wonderful treatment...I am keeping hope in my heart and sending up prayers everyday. This is really quite an advanced technology and it will just kill the cancer and spare all the good cells. I know you are anxious, but hang in there dear friend...This will be very helpful for Steve.

Love, Linda

Dear Wanda - you do have friends all over the world, you do!! I\'ve heard great things about cyberknife. Praying you\'ll be able to get it started quickly. What a lovely thing Liezl said about flooding the heavens with prayers.
Wanda, we do have wusses here in the UK!!! But I never knew you\'d have them in the south too. I love this about Ds, all the little bits-n-bobs you find out, along with the vital RCC info, and support, and love....what a lifeline.
much love, Meriel

Dear Wanda,

i do hope and pray Steve gets in quickly, i know how you feel, i am not a very patient person either.. I have read alot about Cyberknife, anything that can be that precise and leave the good cells has to be a major step in the cancer world.. I am so glad to hear that this is Steve\'s next treatment and my prayers
are with you both that it gets started quickly...
Much love and many prayers,

Becca

It is interesting about the cyroblation being new when Steve had it a few years ago. When I just had it last year I was able to find quite a bit of information on line about it. It is amazing how the medical discoveries develop. That is why we pray the Doctors & Scientist help find a cure for this monster soon! I pray Steve will do well with the treatment and as we know we are all helping to find a cure by doing our part in the new technology. With Prayers!

Sending prayers and many thoughts to you both from \"downunder\" that Steve can be treated as soon as possible.
We have \"wusses\" here, too. I always thought it was an Australian expression so there you go.

Wanda, hope that Steve can be worked into the schedule soon, that would ease your mind. Do you have to go far for treatment? We were blessed that we had access to the cyberknife in our own community. Make sure you find out how you can help Steve through the effects of the radiation, although I know they are a bit different for everyone. At least you can get an idea of what to expect. Praying for you!

Morning Wanda , Just getting caught up today Thursday since I\'m back on that working treadmill.I was with a group of Store Managers who went through the Providence Cancer Center where they featured the Cyper Knife January of this year. The equipment has been around for a while and is usually in select treatment centers so I can see why their are people waiting. I left thinking it\'s a very precise treatment .Its difficult not to ruminate when things are unsettled , I hate that !!! :) I am encouraged by his treatment plan and praying for both of you. Gail
