Still Have Energy
I got some good sleep last night and I have energy again today. I did have some coffee earlier in the morning, but I didn't really need it. I just wanted it for the taste. I also finished up a Mountain Dew I got at the store yesterday, but that once again was for taste. Well, that and I didn't want it to go flat. Still, I feel good today. Work went well... I had to do callbacks again, which I'm not too fond of, but I'm getting used to it. I just don't like making phone calls when I don't know what I'm going to say. I'm figuring out what I need to say, so it's getting better for me. It's a bit harder, since I have to leave a message in both English and Spanish, but I'm getting better at my Spanish again. It comes and it goes when I use it and don't use it. I'm getting used to the words in the doctor's office. Every environment that I've had to use Spanish in has been different- school, selling television, selling phones, and now working in a medical clinic. I'm not that confident in my Spanish, but people tell me I'm speaking it well, so that's good I guess.
Not much happened today. I actually fell back asleep when I set my alarm to snooze, which never happens. I'm glad I set it to snooze, since I might have slept through the first part of work had I not. I almost never fall back asleep, I just lie there and relax and wake up. Today I got in a tiny nap. Well, not a nap, since it was a snooze, but you know what I mean. I wore a new outfit to work, some stuff I got from the woman on Freecycle. The shirt was so comfortable... I can't wait to wear it again. I'm really liking the clothes I got... they are good quality and stylish. I wonder what happened to the person who had them before. I hope they lost weight like I'm trying to do. I went to work today, not much happened. My boss was trying to get into a system for half the day, and then the tech guy came and fixed it in like 2 seconds, like tech guys do. I hope I can get back into tech support... I liked it and I was good at it.
I talked to my stepdad for a while today. I was wondering if I didn't get a job with the clinic if I could apply at Goodwill. I need to drop off some stuff for them since I have all these new clothes that I have to fit in my closet... I need to find out where the closest one is by bus and drop the stuff off and see if they are hiring. I know where one is, I just don't know how easy it is to get to by bus. It might be in the middle of nowhere bus-wise. I talked to him about money and stuff, and he was saying that he can't wait for me to come out in January. I'm getting a bit worried about the trip, since I don't have a lot of money, but I know that he will help me out.
One thing that worries me about the trip is that I'm taking it to avoid the depression that I get at that time of year. I'm worried that when I get home from the trip I'm going to have homesickness even worse than before since I just got back from LA. I get homesick for LA when I'm in Miami sometimes. Then again, I don't know. I might be okay with it, knowing I'm going back in May for my sister's graduation. She's getting her doctorate in psychology, so that's a -huge- deal. She has been working her whole life for this, and I'm so proud of her. I wish I could follow in her footsteps, but I want to do research in psychology instead of clinical stuff. She's doing her final internship now. I'm looking forward to seeing all my family back in LA. If I can afford it, I want to go see my mom for Christmas, too. I think I might have to go up on Christmas Eve and come back the day after, but it would be great to see her for Christmas, even if it is just a couple of days. I can't believe how far my relationships with my family have come. They used to be a disaster, and now I actually like my family most of the time. I think it has to do with me growing up and maturing.
Food today was good... yesterday too. I managed to get into the 1,600 calorie range both yesterday and today, so that's great. I'm supposed to be between 1,550 and 1,900 so I'm on the right track. I can even have a snack later tonight and still be in my range. That makes it 4 of the 5 days of my goal so far that I've met. I just need to meet it tomorrow and I will be good! Stress was a bit high today, making the callbacks at first, but I got used to it. Sleep was good, and my mood was good too. I'm having a good run here, let's see how long I can make it last!
