still fighting
I am here again. Wanted everyone to know we are still fighting.
The battle gets harder each day. We have talked it to death. The subjects are not easy, this is what I want you to do after I'am gone. The topics are varied, after 17 years of kidney cancer you know that the day is coming but I try to pretend it will be on down the road.
Dialysis is so hard on a person with cancer. It is hard even on the more "healthy" people. I am at the point where I pray for mercy for him. God please don't let him hurt, God let him be at peace.
He has told me several times to be happy for him, that he will be out of all the suffering and the dialysis.
His cancer is in so many places now. He has a drain tube out of his side that has to be drained 3 times a week. They say they don't know where it is coming from, but has no cancer cells in it.
He still has some good days, but are getting fewer. We know that without a doubt that he has lived his miracle. Who do you know that has lived this long with renal cell carcinoma? He is a miracle and inspires other to live and fight against this monster.
Don't know why I had the bold print. I guess God just wanted it to be shouted out!
I thank God everyday for helping me to care for him. I know that he does because I am not a healthy chick myself.
For those who know me I wonder how you are doing and where you are at now. I think of you often. I connect with a lot of FB and know that you are still praying. Thank you ever so much.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember that even the smallest blessing is a good one.

My Sweet Wanda,
Reading this hurts my heart. I HATE CANCER and what it does!!! You and Steve have been truly amazing for so many years. Nearing the end of the journey is very hard. You are like I was...wanting the bad to end for our men, knowing health, happiness, and heaven awaits. Please always remember that you both are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. If you need me, please don\'t hesitate to call (803/774-4420). God is with you, my dear friend.
I love you,
Ingrid
Dearest Wanda, It is so very wonderful to hear from youI Though, you and Steve have fought the longest and bravest battle and, I have no doubt that your emotional and physical reserves for tolerating everything you have to tolerate in addition to the fear and worry that is always there, well I don\'t know what to say except that my heart goes out to you. Steve was great inspiration for my husband and I...his journey has given so much hope to so many.
I send my love to you both and I will keep you and Steve in my prayers as I have been. If you ever need to talk, please let me know. I do check in here at DS (don\'t do FB), but I believe you have my email and phone as well. Let me know if you need that again and I\'ll send it.
Peace to you and your family. Love, Linda
Wanda, I just came across this when checking my e mails. I have been so attached to you two since I first started reading your posts after I found DS after Frank passed. I have watch you both fight this demon , cancer, with such grace and faith and love. As I learned more about you, my concern went more to worring about you. You take such excellent care of Steve but you forget about yourself. I worry about you taking care of your diabetes. A disease I was diagnosed with a year ago. It takes such monitoring and watching. I have recieved such a lesson in love and caring. Your faith led me back, I wanted to have some of the peace and joy you two share in the Lord. It is getting more difficult for Steve and you now and my heart aches. Steve and you again facing this with such love togeather. Know that you are in my prayers and thoughts and am sending you loads of love. I am on facebook more than DS, but do check back. If you ever need to talk please let me offer you a shoulder. When I was down seeing Betsy I told her I should surprise you and drop in for that cup of tea you promised a while ago. I wish I was in shape to be able to do it now. So much for that 2nd surgery. May the Lord watch over all of us. Huge hugs dear one.
As I read your 3 entries I just want to cry. You have offered me love when I need it so. I can see my husband getting tired and to tell you the truth I am exhausted. I take Steve to and from dialysis 3 times a week. He could still drive over most days but never drive home. He was near tears today and
every day last week. He is still my hero and I love him like I know you loved
your husbands.
I know death is coming at some point for Steve. My faith is strong and I just want peace for him and not to suffer. God is in control of that and I can only live day by day. 17 1/2 years and counting
Love you all,
Wanda
I\'m sending love & prayers for you and Steve.
Hugs, Lois
My sweet Wanda,
Letting you know much luv from me here in Texas. Sending prayers for peace for you and Steve.
Luv Annette
Wanda, I hate this thing called Cancer. The 2 of you have dealt with it far longer than I have Mine was 9 years Sept. of 2015. From all I\'ve studied about cancer in general Renal Cell Carcinoma can throw more curves than a star pitcher. My Oncologist and I have discussed this a few times. It is so unpredictable. As I think most of us do I have a CT of my chest and MRI\'s of my abdomen and pelvis every 3 months. My next series is tomorrow. Always dreaded and like everyone else, nervous about the results. My taking Sutent is only on occasion now because of the blood results which are now done once a week. Despite all I thank God for the time He has given me. I live by myself so it is difficult sometimes. I don\'t even want to think about the future when needing someone. That would be a nursing home for me. You, Wanda, are far stronger than you give yourself credit for.
May God continue to watch closely over you. All my love, Andrea
My dearest Wanda,
I\'m not on here much but think of you and Steve often. No words of wisdom I just know when my Mom was close to passing from stomach cancer I felt the need to let her know it was okay to let go. We would miss her dearly but we would be okay. Steve is a special warrior and so are you ! Just know y\'all are in my prayers luv an peace .
Annette
