Still feeling kind of cruddy.
Today, a friend of mine and my husbands stopped by to check on me. He is looking after me because my husband is gone. I guess I am just missing my husband alot. Have to see his brother next weekend and that friend of ours they are going to pull out my husbands classic car to check it out. That car was a big part of who my husband was. Don't know if I am going to be able to handle it or not.

That\'s a hard one. The more personal and cherished an item the loved one had, the tougher to deal with. The stuff, whereas it\'s all just \"stuff\", is part of us - we take care of it, love it, carry it around from one place to the next. If its a loved hobby item, then its part of them. In \'08 my husband and I bought a new tractor, something he really needed for the homestead and he did side jobs with too. He was the most happy and excited I ever seen him when that tractor was first delivered (I took pictures). He took fastidious care of it, bought attachments for it and whatnot. It was his most cherished item (I referred to it as his \"tractor baby\"). The best thing I could do when he parted us on 30 April, was to give it to his son, which is what he wanted anyway. His son will cherish it like he did, and will give him a jump-start on a business some day. Oh, and he has a place to store it too. After all, what was I going to do with a tractor/attachments???? The best I figure that we can hope for is this (particularly a much-loved item): if we can\'t use it, or it\'s impractical to keep or something we don\'t want to keep, that it go to someone who will appreciate, love, maintain and cherish it as well. If that be a family member, well then all the better, but another collector lets say depending on the item. It made me feel good, under the circumstances, that his son took his tractor. Maybe your bro in law, and this friend, can advise you on how to deal with this item. Peace to you.
