still able to laugh, thank God!

Hey..........Ho..........Hello!
It's good to learn something every day.  Today I learned something thanks to confusion.  I put my trash in the trunk.  Seemed like a good plan.  Trash p/u is TH......imagine me, a day ahead of a deadline on anything.  DREAMING BIG from fog central.
I had already emptied the frig of questionable foodage......put the rinsed out containers in the dishwasher, tossed excess catalogs/mail........so I was feeling all proud of pushing through the clouds.
So.......I am standing there in my floor length soft pink hoody robe.........and purple slippers. garage door up......destination: end of driveway &  to snag the big prize of the mail.  I push the button and the car door doesn't unlock.  I push it again and again.........no matter how many times I push the button it WILL NOT UNLOCK.  Finally, I walk into the house, plunk down on the couch.  Picture a very bewildered frustrated face.........yup, that's the one!
I sit & stare off into space ........finally I look at the car remote.  Actually LOOK AT IT.......and that's when it seeps through the cotton, the clouds, the San Francisco pea soup that swamps the brain.  I've been hitting the LOCKED BUTTON the whole time.  On some level I think I even knew it was the wrong button, but not able to figure it out..........when I realized I started to shake, rattle and roll................I laughed & laughed & laughed...........kept myself in the penalty box to wait until I was a little more awake and then finally I was able to open the car and take the trash out........get my mail.
I can hear the music they always play for the Olympics in my head...........dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah,......da da da da da da da da da dahhhhhhh..........the crowd is on their feet, cheering wildly for the homegirl who was such a long shot at getting her trash to the curb, getting her mail......doing it all safely.........she set an all time world record for the safest slowest realization of how to unlock a car, to get 'er done.........for laughing in the face of confusion.  for continuously trying when she sometimes feels like crying.........for choosing laughter today.......for being so brave and rising up to do the mundane, the normal, the readily achievable for others, for putting herself out there.......on the line of risk and seeking ways to embrace a can do spirit.
that's my post of the day.  i rescheduled my doctor appt to Sept. 16th.  Now I will see both doctors on that day.  One at 1:45 and the other at 4:00.  I realize I have no business driving on the open road this week.  (was supposed to go TH at 2:30) Thank you Lord for settling me down on the couch and putting me in time out, for letting me laugh.........
Sam came by on Sunday after his ride.  I was not a very stimulating conversationalist.  I was trying, but it wasn't coming out well.......not our best visit, but always always glad to see him and the hugs are the best!  He is leaving for China in little more than two weeks time...........oh my!
I'm hungry, gonna leave it up to the microwave to feed me, no cooking with the stovetop or oven til I'm more with it.  I have leftover beets, broccoli, cauliflower and rice......that should work.  Now to figure out how to stand up again.
Just know that I'm so proud of all ya'll!  for everything you do that is hard, that is a bit of a push, that takes you extra time but you figure out a way to manage, for being still & quiet when you should be.........for managing to stand when you can.........for looking after yourself, your life, your health......for being an amazing friend.......and for laughing with me.  Lesson of the day, no matter how many times you lock the door........it will not open.  Ya gotta press the button that opens the door........whether it's to a car, a choice, an option.......to a decision.  Ya gotta make sure you're pressing the right button.......so remember to pray first, decide next!  And when you fail, it's not permanent, it's temporary, let laughter be your friend........and share the good with the bad...........nobody is perfect and none of us have to be thank God!

At least you did not have the remote for the TV out with you trying to open the car. That has probably been done by some of us over the years.

Hope you are able to get up & about to fix you some food tonight. I plan to put my microwave to use later myself & watch the baseball game from Atlanta - the Braves & the Indians. Wonder if they will be wearing the same war paint.

Managed to leave the house yesterday for the 1st time since last Wednesday but have had that anchor around my neck today. Not only does it hurt to wear it but it is mighty hard to drag on dry land.

Take care, tomorrow will be a new day.

LOL...carol! I can just picture that. Listen, I think you did amazingly well through all the pea soup. You actually figured it out pretty quickly once you got out of the overstimulation and panic! GOOD JOB!!!!!

I usually put my telephone under my husband\'s bed pillows to muffle the noise when I nap. A few weeks ago (did I tell you this? Soup again!)....I tried to find my remote and could not! We ripped apart my room, my bed, everything! THEN, I saw my telephone on the stand....in my room. OH NO! I checked under hubby\'s pillows and there it was~! My remote! OMGOSH! How odd, that I should do something so brainless!!! Pfffffffffffft!

Husband was not surprised. Not at all. Me either. It is what it is Ruthie! And we got it. Thanks for the encouragement to continue forward, no matter how stupid the things I do may be. And oy....do I win some prizes!!

Ruthie you had me laughing at myself over this journal. I\'ve done the same thing just recently. I went to the mall over the weekend. We went to Starbucks & the girl said, may I help you? Usually the people there no what I want. This was a new girl. I stood there for a minute in silence. Then I spit my words out all messed up. It was like fighting tooth & comb to get out what I wanted. Hubby stood there silent. Later he said to me, you acted like you never ordered a mocha frapp in your life. I told him , I had brain fog & it just would not come out right. I don\'t think he understood what was going on. I was embarrassed but got over it.
Just got up 30 mins ago & feel like a truck ran me over. Same thing every day. Must be the RA/Fibro. I wish that truck take another route.
Love you Ruthie...hope you enjoy today. I cancelled my appt yesterday to the GI doctor. Going on Fri. Hope I can get myself out of bed.
I know you will miss Sam. How long will he be in China? What an adventure for him. Praying for safe travel. Love ya xo
